Thread: WWE All Stars

    Default WWE All Stars

Anybody else here interseted in this?

    I'm most definitely copping this.

Scheduled for release on March 29, 2011 for PS3, XBox 360, Wii, PS2 & PSP.

    From Wikipedia:

In contrast to the more simulation based WWE Smackdown! vs. Raw series, WWE All Stars features arcade-style gameplay along with over-the-top animation and wrestlers bearing a more exaggerated look. The game is expected to be a combination of a fighting game and a wrestling game, with combos playing a major factor in gameplay, both on the ground and mid-air. Some gameplay videos show the wrestlers doing exaggerated moves, such as John Cena's Attitude Adjustment, in which he dives high into the air. The game will feature present and past WWE wrestlers, as well as commentary from Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler

Ricky Steamboat + Macho Man + Ultimate Warrior = INSTANT BUY!

at first i was like fuck no, but now that i see its a fighter not just an exaggerated wrestling game i might fuck wit it. i do wish they would make a game with legends that had the normal smackdown vs raw engine tho.

I prefer the more arcade style game so this definately has my interest. I would like to get a demo of this first to get a feel for it but if the reviews are good then yes I will most likely get it.

That is Snuka under Jack Swagger.

Shawn Michaels to the right of Snuka (I think).

Stone Cold to the right of Michaels.

Mr. Perfect is between Edge & Sgt. Slaughter.

    The Miz is under Slaughter.

CM Punk is under Brett Hart.

And I think it's either Christian or Chris Jericho to the left of Andre the Giant.

The Undertaker is between Mysterio & The Rock

That roster picture is the wallpaper on my desktop, so I've been studying the shit out of it lol.

Ted DiBiase Sr. & Jr. are available as DLC when you pre-order from Gamestop.

On second thought, that might be Iron Sheik next to Andre.

Is it going to be like Legends of Wrestling?

Not really, except maybe from an asthetics standpoint.

This game should be much more in-depth than LoW was.

Sal DaVita (the guy who produced WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game) is producing the game and a lot of the devs from the TNA Impact game are working on this as well.

But it should be lightyears better than Impact was seeing as how the dev team has WWE money and a studio that isn't on life support funding the project.

I think what their going for here is the pick-up-and-play accessablilty of NBA Jam, but with a combat engine with the depth of say, Virtua Fighter or Tekken for players who want to really dig their claws in it.

BTW there are fighter classes: Brawler, Big Man, Grappler & Acrobat.

Playing with the characters in the acrobat class should be fun as hell, especially Guerrero, Mysterio & Morrison.

So I copped this on release day and I've had fun with it.

Being that the devs did use the same engine as TNA Impact, some of the drawbacks about that game are mildly present here.

Not enough to ruin it, but they're there.

Matches can turn into reversal fests on the medium & hard difficulties as well as latter matches in Path of Champions (story mode).

That's probably the most noticable setback, that and the sameness of strikes and grapple moves that aren't character specific.

The Fantasy Warfare mode is dope because they put together some slick promo packages to make it look like the Lengend & current Superstar in the match have actually been running a program with each other (sorry, that's mark-speak).

There's only 6 arenas to choose ATM, unless THQ has already released some DLC.

The modes and match types are pretty sparse because the game is more about jumping into exhibitions and having fun with a friend or online.

Playing as Big Show is a fucking blast!!!

He's usually a pretty boring character in most SvR games.

Even wrestlers I can't stand are fun to use here.

So far my favorite characters to use are:

    Big Show
    John Morrison
    Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat
    "Macho Man" Randy Savage
    Ultimate Warrior
    Sgt. Slaughter
    Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
    Kane
    "Stone Cold" Steve Austin
    The Undertaker
    Th.......

Ah, screw it, every Superstar is fun to use!

BTW Mad Catz released an Arcade stick & fightpad for this game.

I didn't know those were coming out until I saw them @ Gamestop.

I'm still having tons o' fun playing this game, but apparently nobody else cares so w/e.

I'd say it's definitely worth renting if you don't wanna drop 60 on it.
