For those of you that dont know, this album was released before the Wu-tang clan formed when GZA's name was just "The Genius" and was signed to Cold Chillin records. Both of these albums are long out of print and the first one is rarer than the second. You'd be lucky to buy one of these in a used record store or on ebay.....if you try to buy it on ebay, be prepared to pay a lot for it.

This is an old school 1990 type album....it has no wu sound at all. That may be why the album isnt liked by some wu fans....while some enjoy this album alot.

I never heard the 1991 version but I thought the reissue was good.

I bought this in a mall in Brampton (Ontario) in 1994 I remember seeing it one day and not buying it cause I had no money, then going back and getting it. Pass the Bone is a great song.

this CD is awesome. sometimes the beats are kind of nondescript and similar-sounding but that's because of the era it came from. there are some awesome tracks, genius is on point, and you hear a side that he never really explores (that being partying and women). "stay out of bars" has a great beat as do come do me, pass the bone, those were the days, feel the pain.

    i give it like a 7.9

7/10 album. Three classic tracks: "Pass The Bone", "What Are Silly Girls Made Of?" & "Words From The Genius"
