    Default Wu-Tang Clan and Jay-Z

I have been big into the Wu since '97 and still wonder why the Wu and Jay-Z never hooked up over the years. I'm not really into Jay's newer shit, but they surely could have had a couple sick collabs in the 90's. Show and Prove was a sick track, but Jay and ODB were only features. I also read that Ghost and Common may be on a track together on Watch the Throne. Besides that, were there any other tracks?

Was there some beef that I didn't know about? I know Rae and Ghost beefed with BIG, which may have had something to do with it. I just find it a little odd since Jay and the Wu were both from NY and came up in the 90's and didn't do anything together. Please fill me in.

    Thanks!

Jay wasn't that big until Vol. 2 dropped, then he blew up. Still, there aren't many known rappers in the entire USA that wu hasn't collab'd with, let alone from NY.

    Raekwon taking shots at Jay-Z:

"Militant, to play your perimeter, hold wifey now before I get her
You know what Wu do, RZA, tell 'em, now we got, Dre in the kitchen, son
It's on, Part Two, watch me sell 'em
Cuz New York is me, homey, watch me throw the crown in the trash."

    Dope track. Fuck Jay-Z anyway.

Yeah a Wu/Jay collab would've been hot. Meth & Jay to be more specific.
Only a few years ago Hip Hop purists may have felt superior listening to hard core while their less enlightened companions snacked on commercial rap. As Shaolin research began to point out the overwhelming benefits of raw production, true hip hop enthusiasts started turning back to traditional styles. Wu-Tang in particular, has been shown to myriad beneficial effects, from warding off ignorance and poverty to reducing the risk of incarceration and death.

^exactly i always wondered why Jay never reached out to Meth for a track. Them two on a track around '99-'03 would have been amazing

"I felt so inspired by what my teacher said,
Said I'd either be dead or be a reefer head,
Now sure if thats how adults should speak ta kids,
Especially when the only thing I did was speak in class

    I teach his ass...
Even betters what my uncle did,
I pop my demo tape in start to beat my head,
Peaked out my eye, see if he was beating his,
He might as well say beat it kid, he’s on the list

Its like Im searching for kicks like a sneaker head,
He gon keep pushing me until I reach the ledge,
And when I reach the ledge I'll tell em all to eat a d-ck,
Take a leap of faith and let my eagle wings spread
    "

Jay-Z "So Ambitious", from latest album..

Some Jigga songs are "eeeh" sometimes, but when he gets 'em right, nobody can't fuck with him. He knows how to write songs, and I love the way he is accurate on. You basically lean back and picture everything's he's talkin about.. no difficulties, no weird slang that only his homeboys understands.. it's universal.

    Gotta give Hov his props
