damn u almost got it, a little off tho. it sounds like u have the "beats for bar" set on 5, u should always have it on 4 or 8 to loop properly. if not it'll be off beat.. set it up on 4 andtry to make the sample fit the bar. make sure u use the razorblade to make clean cuts. if your still having problems send me the sample and I'll prechop it for u so u get the idea.

Try this:
Make a simple kick, snare, hat pattern.
Right click on each of the channels and choose piano roll
Press ALT+Q and click on the Groove Template map and choose one of the templates. I'd go with the 60% or higher ones.

The speed of the sample doesn't seem to match the drums. I don't know if you use Edison to cut samples, but since you use FL I'll assume you do. Learn the BPM of the song you're sampling. Look at the sample spikes...
use those to make loops. Start making 2 or 4 bar loops, drop 'm off in the playlist, double click the sample, then you see this...
See that knob called time? Say you have a 2 bar loop and the sample is 60 BPM and the beat you're making is 90 BPM, you need to make your sample go faster. Turn the knob 'till it's two bars or right click it and click in 2 bars. There, now you got a loop going.
I thought your drums are kinda weak. You should get some better drum sounds. Drums are the heart of a hip hop beat. When you got dope drums going on, you could sample motherfucking queefs and dolphin clicks and people will still nod their head.

ya i use edison to chop, but it doesnt ever show me the BPM like it does in that screen capture, i dont know why. i prolly havent looked hard enough to turn that setting on though or i need to start using those markers
and is it the drum pattern still or just the drum sounds now that are weak?

My Edison doesn't show BPM either, but I think there's a setting that can detect the BPM. I just right click the general BPM thing outside Edison (next to the play/pause/record) and select tap while I tap along to the beat.
On the drums, both the pattern as the drum samples sound dick. Listen to some hip hop beats and try to remake the drum pattern.

for the last year and a half ive been time stretching in edison just going by ear.
this is so much easier (and more accurate probably) that i feel retarded
real dark, everything sounds official to me. the 2 bar loops sounds right, maybe a little EQing, u need to make the sample a bit louder. u should practice on soul or jazz samples first to get the hang of it. keep grindin
just gonna say its basically impossible to be good at making drum tracks off the bat, its an acquired skill with lots of little nuances you gotta pick up here and there
but as long as you keep up the work and practice you're gonna get it
if you can manage to find a cracked izotope ozone program it works wonders with EQing

if it were myself i woulda made the snare a little louder and panned the hats slightly left -
early in my productions someone told me to picture a beat visually and try to have sounds spread out, with some room in the middle for vocals. i dont think its necessarily always gonna stick to that formula but it helped me
also - you are awesome at finding ill loops already lol, i dont think you missed a mark there yet
yo i wrote a sick verse for this, but all the updated version made me loose intrest on spittin it.... good shit tho on werkin on it, shit sounds dope
