Nice album. I'd give it an 8/10. Big L is one of the most overrated of all time, but I give him credit for the huge influence he had on so many after him. He was nice though. Just nothing special is all. But a solid album no doubt.

"big l is that n**** you expect to catch wreck on any cassette deck, i'm so ahead of my time my parents haven't met yet."

columbia ruined this album by leaving off the best songs, i'll give it 8/10.
you could easily put together a comp of his early work that i'd give 10/10.

Thats a damn good list, and I'd probably agree with a fair bit of it. Some, ehhh, not really, but they arent wack MCs. Others I havent heard of.

Good to see J-Live get some love

Word. Seeing J-Live perform live a couple of years back really made me realise what a top notch mc he is. Definitely top 50 for me.

I just made that list up to reply to your post, by going through my cd collection and picking out everybody I considered to be a particularly good mc. There's a few mc's in it who I'm not really much into, but still consider to be particularly talented.

Haven't heard of him, and yeah, I've heard of but not really listened to moreso.

Haven't heard of Treach though, never heard K-Rino (I'm bout to feel the hate haha), or Buckshot.

I probably have and just haven't realised, but yeah, never bought any of their albums.
