Overall, I enjoyed this. The sample selection was pure BDZ and your chop game is on point. The complaint I have is that everything had a similar bounce to it, meaning most of the tracks were around the same tempo, and the drum sounds and patterns got a little repetitive. Your foundation for growth is there though, and I feel if you experiment more with your drums, you'll elevate to doper sound. I give this tape a solid 7/10. Enjoyable with some real head bangers, but still some room for growth.
Peace!

high quality work though bronze, im always looking forward to hearing what kinda sample you dig up - you got a deep library and a good ear for em
whenever i go through your beats im like damn i wanna rock that sample lol
liberta was craziness
i cant rep yet but this gets mumm ras stamp of approval
I'll give it a spin Bronze, looks cool.
I'm too picky with Instrumentals in general
Unless is Blue Sky Black Death or some Chamber Music I get quite bored
.
Be interesting to see how you make the switch from the mic.
And how the tape flows in it's own right.
Ill let you know.

man, all i listen to is hip hop instrumentals these days lol
i dont even fuck with tracks anymore, except for noemotion's new album
and warcloud albums now and then
Nice tape overall Bronze! Cool samples all the way and I dig the theme too. The drums will only get better once you gain more experience n shit. Keep at it holmes!
peace Mumm Ra, thanks for checkin it. glad you dig the sample choices. im def workin on the drums all the time too.
peace to Whers and Boogie, thanks for checkin it out. appreciate ya time. also, whers i feel where you come from about beat tapes but a well done beat tape can easily surpass even the best lyrical work, you just gotta let the music consume you
peace to everybody
^explain why?
cause an emcee gains all momentum from a beat, an emcee gains majority of inspiration from a beat. if you dont listen to the beat before you write, thats a fail. if you dont write with the beat, thats a fail. nothing will come out the way its supposed too. not unless your a spoken word artist and even then them cats are mad on point
the beat is the backbone of hip hop, in fact all music really. i zone out to beat tapes, i do not zone out to rappers.
im an emcee to the core, if i do say so myself a fuckin damn good one. and my writtens certainly are some of the illest around here but i couldnt do none of that without the beat to move the soul.
a WELL DONE beat tape allows for the listener to make his own visuals and not be told by the emcee what to visualize.
also
dont get me wrong either, when i listen to a good emcee kick an ill verse, i still flip my shit. you know bring the track back numerous times because emceeing are my roots and a skilled lyricist can crush membranes.
but venturing out you realize a lot more from a different perspective. that why Jazz will forever be the illest genre in music. no words, all instruments, just taking you places. if you cant get down, then you truly missing out on an experience
Agree to disagre bro...i been writin verses waaaaay before i spit over trax let alone to any beat. Dont get it twisted,i see ur point but hip hop music is the perfect marriage of both. I feel they go hand in hand. The beat does inspire a nigaa to write, but i can only vibe to an instumental for so long b4 i either get hype enuff to spit, write,or skip to the next to see which joint im diggin the most. An emcee is an emcee.....is an emcee. Thru n thru, with or with out a beat my dude. Thats like sayin a freestlye cypher has to have a beat to set shit off or emcee battles require a beat playin in the back. They need each other like light n dark, peace.
On a lighter note, great job on ur first tape man....shits flames.

big ups Jig
great point you made tho, i agree with that. they are definitely a perfect marriage of vocal performance and instrumental work.
but just like you said, you can listen too it until you feel the need to spit or get on with the next one to feel the movement. and it is true you can have an acapella battle thats dope as hell but to me, id take an instrumental over an acapella.
glad you dig it and even enjoy more that its sparkin a conversation like this. twas the purpose of the tape
