Em because he's white and Jay because he's down with the Devil and the Illuminati
She talked, I listened, She listened I spoke
We walked arm-in-arm and split a Cherry Coke
Spit religion and politics, Sega and chess
Roots and culture, hip-hop, skunk and sess
She caught me sneakin' peeks at her breasts
    While frontin' name droppin' connects

    this man speaks the truth.

also, Slick Rick should've been way higher on the list. and I have yet to hear an MC say "Eminem influenced me." Masta Ace should've been on the list for influencing Em though.

and Puff Daddy, or whatever he goes by, should've been in the top 10 FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS. he's the reason we have so many gay ass remixes and pop-rap songs. blame Diddy

Tupac the most influential? Look at how much influence NWA had. They fucking changed Hip Hop 180 degrees. Most rappers today are still trying to be gangsta. I would've put NWA on #1.

eminem deserves that spot; let's be real. whether or not you like him, you can't deny the influence he's had on the game

    what influence?
apart from selling a lot of records im not aware of anything groundbreaking or trend setting or game changing he's done
not a tenth of what wu has done at least

hip hop was mainstream long before em

the most groundbreaking things Eminem did was the huuuuge amount of records he was selling, he and 50 Cent made a new line for how much hip-hop was worth so in that way they changed the game (but not for the better). he's also the only white rapper who made it into the position of the culture he's in. i think these are the reasons why they included him but i agree that he shouldn't be higher than Public Enemy and Wu-Tang Clan for example.

All you have to do is look at the state of hip hop, and you can clearly see that Wu-Tang aren't really that influential.
