eminem caught WRECK like Roy Campanella on that verse you posted Inspektah Meth-Tical... but eminem is just not better than RZA, KRS-One, DOOM, Immortal Technique, Nas, Chuck D, Ice Cube, Killah Priest, Razah etc. etc.

Eminem isn't the greatest of all time, no.
I think it's more on point to say Eminem WAS one of the greatest, that's one of the best, not the best.
His freestyles was absolutely crazy back in the day there's no doubt about that & IMO Infinite is his best album, lyrics, metaphors etc are insanely great on that album!

(that qwel dude is nice tho, never heard of him so thanks for introducing his music)
That's my thoughts anyway, and this has been discussed more times than 'how did the world begin?' or 'when will the world end?'

I suggest that everyone reading this post do the same.

Repped, most intelligent post in the thread.

Don't know why people even argue with the OP, his opinion is his opinion, regardless of how retarded it is.

The hidden meanings in Qwel's songs are pretty crazy. Not quite as cryptic as Aesop, but the parrallelism in The Highest Commitment is dope. It's not a song about a girl, it's a song about weed. His punchlines are far better than Big L's, anyone who thinks otherwise didn't understand half of them.

I'm not a big Eminem fan, but that list is just wrong.

    Eminem > Rza
    Eminem > KRS-One
    Eminem >>>>> Immortal Tech
    Eminem > Chuck D
    Eminem > Ice Cube
    Eminem > Razah
    In my opinion.

    I can tell you're a fan of political/encylopedia rap.

    Qwel >>>> Eminem.

    Broken Wing: Verse 1

G4 fo sure, we're goin to war son
On his snide pride lyin with a smile and forked tongue
Stealin with his eyes, chillin back of the forefront
Will's design to ill the mind, but here the fourth horse comes
Screamin come freedom in this season of drought
Masonic demons meet in secret, we believe it aloud
Without the greedy, grubbin, ducky hands just feet in the clouds
Swingin sickle at these anti Christos, keeping us down
Blingin, heathen at this bloody freak-nic, geekin to drown
Crowds of weekend warriors, but Meaty seeked so we found
Never peace on this earth, reserved for sleep in the ground
Awaken only perfect in to keep the weakness without
But who's that creepin in the teachin without speakin a sound?
The loudest deacon fell asleep and shrouds his speech with a doubt
Yah's fallen singer, fingers you down to scheme and a shout
Blinded eyes screamin, "why?" tryin to beef with the how

Em better than KRS, Chuck D or Cube? no chance. Their catalog is matched by only a few and definitely not em.

I find all 3 of those rappers boring. That's just me, though.
    I've never been a big fan of '80s hip-hop.
I did say it was my opinion.

Fuck the catalog..i'm just talking emceeing. Eminem would rip KRS, Chuck D or any of those legends when it comes to pure emceeing.

Prime8, you make Qwel sound like the greatest ever....which he isn't.

He's dropped almost twenty solo albums, not a single weak verse.
I don't think he's the greatest, nor do I think there even is a greatest.
There's too many variables and differences of opinion.
One thing's for sure, Eminem isn't the greatest.

eminem's problem is more often than not his subject matter is boring as fuck and/or lame. and like it or not, that is part of being an emcee too, which is why id rather listen to ODB.

sure, EM has some interesting shit once in a while like that verse posted earlier - but you're lucky if that's 1 outta 10 songs.
also, due to the threadstarter not even being sure about his own definition of what emceeing is, i will never take his opinion about who is a good emcee seriously.

I feel like I'm walking a tight rope, without a circus net
    I'm popping percocets, I'm a nervous wreck
I deserve respect; but I work a sweat for this worthless check
Bout to burst this tech, at somebody to reverse this debt
Minimum wage got my adrenaline caged
    Full of venom and rage
    Especially when I'm engaged
And my daughter's down to her last diaper
    That's got my ass hyper
I pray that god answers, maybe I'll ask nicer
Watching ballers while they flossing in their pathfinders
These overnight stars becoming autograph signers
We all long to blow up and leave the past behind us
Along with the small fry's and average half pinters
While player haters turn bitch like they have vaginas
Cause we see them dollar signs and let the cash blind us
Money will brainwash you and leave your ass mindless
Snakes slither in the grass spineless

    Information begins to gathering
Starting to pattering the Stargate towards Saturn
Between the eye socket is where I'll build my skyrocket
You don't need any passport, all you need is a thought
Suddenly the soul becomes hot as coal
The flame blows from out my brain holes like a volcano
    The brain begins to process
As we start the conquest from out the physical bondage
The thought launches, voyaging 144 billion light years
Through the shadows of your imagination
Now open your eyes, do you see the flaming arrows aiming at pharaohs' inhabitation'
As we begin to race in like a sparrow through the narrow population
Seeking purification, the destination is the Holy Land of Bethlehem
To eat lamb with Abraham and break bread with the Son of Man
To slowly hold these hands and stretch forth from the skies like a rubber band
As we begin to snap you above the land out of the atmosphere
Don't look back, why' We 'Almost There'
Just trying to prepare and adapt to the air pressure
Now we searching for the mental treasure
Pleasure beyond the measure of yards
You can't comprehend the god or the distance between stars
Picking up quasars inside the radars, we going far past any astronaut
Moving so fast in this aircraft, everything we pass get hot
From the takeoff, the blast turn the glass into rocks
At last my supreme task was no longer to walk on green grass
'Til I become a beam of gas and travel through extreme draft
Unable to be picked up through cable
Out of the reach of all manners of sky examiners
Heaven scanners, giant antennas and high-tech space cameras
No evidence in any cemetery obituary
Not found in any library or dictionary or encyclopaedia or media
I'm in star mode with the discipline of Darmo, I broke the US barcode
Now I'm on Allah's road to journey in the realms of the Cosmos
Where only God knows or goes
Blow like the UFO that gave out my work clothes
Only to glow with a holy robe
Explode through the mysterious black holes
Deep warp through the outer zone without a phone
To the unknown, to sit on my throne alone (Heavy Mental)
The pilot on his galactic plane of knowledge through culture
My sculpture lights up in ultraviolet
So you could see my brain is symbolic to a palace
    Therefore, keep my hair stylish
My flesh solid and my teeth polished
    Next stage, examine my x-ray
Take notes for your essay and let the cassette play for longer than a decade
As we begin to blaze through the Milky Ways
Repent from our filthy ways, replenish from the guilty days
The eyeballs swell up the size of eggs
Neon dreamland, wingspan seven feet, between my eyes is the beak
Destination of the ride is to reach is the peak
Angelical landscape to take the physical man behind the hidden gates of space
Ultimate skates and we go through a phenomenal rate
As we cruise going into magnitude
As we break up into a multitude of molecules
Going through a long hollow tube with a scholar's view
As we wearing the white garment, passing sound waves are supersonic
    Passing the comets, star clusters
Changing my physical structure 'til my lip begin to pucker
Kissing Christ at the Last Supper
Grabbing a brass cup of wine (Heavy Mental)
I feel my cells getting older
Sitting on my sofa in the position like yoga
'Til my mind passes over the Solar System
My wisdom novas, I am the controller
I begin to loosen up my shoulders forming each joint
    Into the Sun's eight points
Then I begin to rise like helium
    Escape in the millennium 2000
Meditate to the soft notes of a violin
I've been on Mars building the holy synagogues for the royal seminars
Long before they had the Renaissance
There existed a Hebrew lodge (Heavy Mental)
A phenomenon from out of the matrix
The world looks at me with envy and hatred
Just because I appear to them half naked rising into a spaceship
With an arm full of solid gold bracelets
A phenomenon from out of the matrix (Heavy Mental)
