Mary J. Blige Names Method Man Tune Favorite Collaboration

She’s collaborated with everyone from Jay-Z to Lil Wayne and even teamed up with Justin Bieber but Mary J. Blige says that it’s her 1995 collaboration with Method Man on I’ll Be There for You/You’re All I Need to Get By that she considers to be her favorite.

Mary recalls meeting Method Man to record the tune which sampled Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s You’re All I Need To Get By.

“One of my favorite hip-hop collaborations would be You’re All I Need – Method Man and Mary. I remember it being his birthday when we did that song and he was just so nice to me,” she recalls.

Mary says he was the complete opposite of the Method Man you see in music videos.

“That was the most refreshing thing to me. When I met him he was just one of the most beautiful people I ever met and he was so much fun. It was refreshing.”

Yup, that remix dropped in 1995 and Blue was already on multiple tracks on Tical. Blue has ALWAYS been Wu's first lady
