Exclamation all these years later... i still dont think ive heard a rapper out do this

kool g sand blasted kane on this...

    and kane murdered it...

kane kicked one of the most impossible flows ever, and kool g just ate it and murdered him anyway.....

you can study that shit all day long... nobody is killing shit like that again, ever...

"hearing me rap, is like hearing g rap in his prime" - JAY-Z

LOL.... one of the biggest slights in the history of rap... YOURE NOT KOOL G AT 45, 50, or 65...let alone prime kool g, jigga

nobody has been able to match the technical mastery he achieved on live and let die IMO...

hes still the bar after all these years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he kicked every single flow imaginable...

had classic verses in every tempo... every time signature...

the way he can switch gears and murder shit from every pocket possible on any beat....

    godly performance start to finish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

whenever i hear this album it reminds me you can get really good at rapping, but a really good rapper thats honest is gonna shrink after he hears it... back to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    that was then...

and in 2012.. theres still not a rapper on the planet that can hang....

    what can you do?!?!!??!!?

ye, one of the illest to ever do it

any emcee who says they didnt pull some sorta inspiration from G Rap , is flat out lying or never did there lessons

fuck, G Rap set the bar even for himself lol

his flow and clarity is perfection. lyrically one of the best to do it, story joint, battle joints and so on

dont think there isnt a box he aint been in and then made the box rethink its design

kool g also gave so much confidence to niggas with speech impediments...

and i mean it with the utmost respect...

niggas lisp probably caused him nothing but grief growing up...

    til he started spitting...

then he made it work to his advantage...

    and became the legend....

    AZ lisp?!?!?!?! classic

live and let die has the some of the most difficult flows ever... and he can kick those incredible multi heavy flows while telling a coherent story.... that shit is crazy....

so many rappers start goin into their multis and get LOST...

alotta try hards rhyming shit just to rhyme, and they come super technical and sound like shit in the process....

kool g has shattered just about every IT rapper on a track in their respective primes...

big daddy kane probably thought he had him till he heard the last verse...

    what can you do?!?!!?!?!?!!?

i remember thinking someone was gonna be able to study kool g and come next level...

    that rapper doesnt exist...

alotta net babies will say nas...

i love nas... but nas is not in the same stratosphere...

he wasnt better then... and hes not better now....

Agreed, #1 With A Bullet definitely stood out on Live & Let Die. Kane should've had more songs like that back in the early 90's, though I don't think it was in him as much as G Rap to produce hardcore music like that.

One big thing I remember about #1 With A Bullet, between the 2 of them G Rap seemed more focused and Kane seemed like he was forced to try and re-invent himself towards a more hardcore approach.

G Rap killed his verse on this song from '93 too, making another Juice Crew member look foolish on the mic

As a drummer maybe I have a different understanding of time signatures than you. Can anyone post any G Rap or any examples of burners not in 4/4?

this thread is gonna make me dig out my copy of live & let die.

amazing album. sir jinx was an elite producer for about 4-5 years in the 90s. great & unique sound. his shit was the definition of rugged.

g rap did a reverse ice cube with that album. and it may be his best album.

certified classic. it needs a re-issue with the premier on the run & hey mister mister.

i thought that initially but i guess by placing rhymes on different beats you can have a time signature within another time signature, which is what rappers do anyway, and kool g has a lot of flows.

i can't think of many hip hop beats not in 4/4 or 2/4. theres a few in 6/8.

Probably never heard Mobb Deep getting this much outshined:

"The decompose, blood flows are holes in your clothes, eyes closed
Body be frozed, posing for pictures with a rose
Head to your toes, look like you got wetted with a hose
The road you choose got your brain drain through your nose, nigga"

    ^^^

kool g rap murdered the mobb every chance he got!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

murdered m.o.p. when they were at their rawest...

tried face and cube on live and let die and got em both in their respective primes...

made a race out of it with nasty nas.... id say kool g took that too....

kool g rap would blow nas up on a track right now... he would absolutely murder the guy in 2012... no contest....

"hearing me rap is like hearing g rap in his prime" - kool g would body jay z at any given time...i never liked that line, shit was corny...

    yo main main...

sir jinx was that dude man...

had that jungle funk with crazy swing... plus how many producers bit his breaks years after the fact!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!

he gave xzibit some hot shit there later on and kinda just tailed off after that...

kool g and sir jinx was a genius combo....crazy twist...
