    Default Best MC today?

For me it's gotta be Black Thought or Elzhi. They both always come correct, have all sorts of different styles of songs, and just keep making dope hip hop. Also a lot of MCs have trouble performing with a live band and both of them do it with ease.

I may be glossing over some, I don't think they're the best MCs of all time, but both are in my top 10-30 or so (way too hard to rate).

I need to see The Roots live.

all good choices except for sean p and kendrick. they're good yeah but not like that.

i'd throw danny brown, electronica, KRIT in the mix. 3000 just off his guest verses.

there are a lot of great all rounders but solely based on emceeing are not ready for the title.

Waka Flocka is the hottest nigga out right now.....
Only a few years ago Hip Hop purists may have felt superior listening to hard core while their less enlightened companions snacked on commercial rap. As Shaolin research began to point out the overwhelming benefits of raw production, true hip hop enthusiasts started turning back to traditional styles. Wu-Tang in particular, has been shown to myriad beneficial effects, from warding off ignorance and poverty to reducing the risk of incarceration and death.

    I meant overall, live included.

Cant argue against your choices at all.

Seems to me black thought might be the best live. I think hes real underrated overall, ppl dont put him in their top lists n he drops nothin but heat.

Apollo kids,n,riches, royalty,n,respect are great records. I just feel like since theyre kimda old theyd lack live but I gotta see for myself. Ive only seen ghost w the wu not solo

I gotta agree on Ghost & G Rap when judging overall career, longevity and straight skill

Something tells me that the convenience of the internet & technology might be to blame for most of today's MCs not being able to reach their level of accomplishments of legend 90's MCs. It's similar to how many new producers have all the sample time in the world with software but can't leave the level of impact like Pete Rock did with the 10 seconds of an SP1200.

If this kid goes on to meet or surpass his pops to become one of the best, it would be a great triumph of Hip Hop.

^thats cause only having ten seconds forced creativity. now kids are lazy and loop the first movie soundtrack sample or symphony section they find and throw some "big drums" over it. then press quantize.

as far as the best emcee today, Ghost, G Rap, Black Thought are three emcees i can allways expect greatness from.
