Major Hitman Announcement Coming This Week

Head on over to the Hitman Facebook page and you'll find a brooding image of Agent 47 watching over the city below him, patiently holding a sniper rifle. What's it all about you ask? Apparently, there's a "MAJOR announcement" coming related to the Hitman franchise.

"Heads up! A MAJOR announcement is coming up on MAY 10th. Don't miss this!" screams the post on the Facebook page, offering no further clues beyond the lovely picture below. Yes, it's an announcement that there'll be an announcement, but it's Hitman!

Could it be something to do with Hitman Absolution, or something entirely separate? Your guess is as good as ours at this point, but all will be revealed on May 10th.

Square Enix has revealed that Hitman: Absolution will be released globally on November 20, while a spin-off pre-order bonus, the Hitman: Sniper Challenge, will be available from May 15.

"Agent 47 is the best in the business so it seemed appropriate to create the best pre-order reward possible for our fans," said Jon Brooke, brand director of the Hitman franchise. "Hitman: Sniper Challenge is a way of thanking customers and giving them a taste of Agent 47's skills from the moment they pre-order the game."

Sniper Challenge will unlock on Xbox Live and PSN on May 15, and August 1 through Steam.
