That was the worst Irish performance I have seen in ages, we can hardly play any worse against Spain, and of course their far better than croatia. We got one of the hardest groups.
But I have to question some of traps decisions, putting Simon cox on the left wing, who is a striker, and not playing a talented player like James McLean who could make a difference.

I don't think he is in the squad, trap pisses everyone off with this, we have some really talented players like him, James McLean and James McCarty but trap sticks with the players he knows. I understand he wants to keep the team that got us there but you bring your best players innit.
I don't like the way we play under trap, for the last world cup qualifiers, that infamous game against France with henry's handball, we were outstanding. It's thought that day we had nothing to lose so the players went against traps wishes and played the way they wanted, and it was one of the best performances I ever seen by Ireland. We were absolutely heartbroken when henry done that and we were out. Pity trap wouldn't let us play like that more often.

At the same time, I have to hand it to trap, we have a far worse team than in any of the world cups we qualified for, and maybe this is the best way for a limited group of players to play in his mind.
I mean some of our players are playing in the championship in england, and struggling to get into first teams.
Spain will more than likely destroy us, but u never know. We bet the Italians at the 1994 world cup and they ended up getting into the final, and at the 02 world cup Spain only bet us on penalties, but we did have far better teams those years.
