    Default Recording Vocals.

I have an MXL 990 Condenser microphone. What is the best way to get a clear vocal recording?

you wont get a "clear" recording without a studio and studio grade equipment

but you can get yourself a pop stopper, look up some foam options

ive found spittin with a wall close behind the mic to add a lot of unwanted sound

Put 2 big matresses in a triangle formation and throw the mic in there to the middle. The cheapest working booth in the world, you'll hear the difference right away. If you can eliminate the early reflections from nearby concrete walls you're halfway there. If you don't own these two matresses try one of these mic screens, they're great for small rooms http://www.seelectronics.com/reflexion-filter-pro

It's been a while since I opened this thread. I've made some good beats and got some pretty damn good vocal recordings too.

    Here's how I did it.

MXL 990 Condenser Microphone plugged into a Scarlett 2i2. Pop Shield and a Editor Keys Portable Vocal Booth shown here:

    It's the god, god.
