sorry to say but it is a classic, you cant create the 2nd like the 1st album because even if he did it would not be the same.
It is a classic because to me every song is good the entire album is good.
massive dissapointment to you maybe ,but this is a strong comeback for raekwon and to (hardcore) hiphop.
There are so many weak concept albums out since 2000 - 2012.
Thats why ob4cl pt 2 is classic to me
some people complain about many numbers well if it was too short youd complain too idiots.
people should buy stereo instead of bumping ob4cl 2 from behind a pc.

I don't think the album was a massive disappointment, it had some good songs and thematically Rae was on the right track but my biggest issue with the album is that it didn't feel cohesive. It felt like random joints put together like a mixtape and I just didn't like that at all. IMO Rae pulled it off better on SvW.
CL2 was never going to live up to the first and anyone who was expecting it to was deluding themselves. All I wanted was a more focused wu sounding Rae album and with CL2 he almost pulled it off.

Now,if u was expecting a Rza produced(Rza from the classic era) LP & Rae & Ghost on every track,yeah,u were setting ur self up for major disappointment.
The LP is dope. Not classic but better than 90% of shit than dropped in the last 5 yrs. Rae was put in a lot of quality work since droppin' CL2(including mixtapes). U can't compare it to the first one. U have to judge it for what it is

I agree with the thread starter, its nothing close to a classic, it does has a cheapness feel to it. I just heard it again a few weeks ago after a year or two and it was average. Shaolin Vs. Wutang was a way better album overall, beats and lyrics.

Just gave it another listen. Not terrible but way too much filler. Didn't the album start out at Aftermath with GZA and Deck co starring at some point? Anyway, you can tell it shift directions a few times. First half is good until "Penitentiary". From there it develops that mix tape feel. Still a good listen but definitely no classic. Also, I agree, please don't compare to the original classic. Nothing can touch that.

Even tho I think CL2 is somewhat overrated, I have to agree. Shaolin vs Wu-Tang is just as shit as Wizard of Poetry
