My Professor said in class today that we have Hispanics/Latinos because the Europeans were "fucking the slaves and crossbreeding all over the god damn place" and that is the origin of that culture, and yes, those were his exact words.

This whole argument got started when somebody said Hispanics/Latinos think that they are white and attempt to deny their black heritage and it just reciprocated from there.

The same could be said for African Americans and their culture.

Honestly, I don't think it was a byproduct of slavery. I live in a Hispanic heavy area and the hispanics are proud of what they are, using brassy horns and sensual Spanish lyrics to express who they are and things like Nachos and Burritos and Tacos, I'm guessing this was a part of their culture for a long time mainly because they wanted to make sure they were fed and they wanted to feel proud about their food at that.

So yeah, I don't think the mexican culture erupted from slavery. These people are who they are because of a decade long tradition.
