LCD VS Plasma (Better For Gaming)

Im looking into getting a new Tv set but don't know if I should jump in and get a plasma. I already own an LCD & the graphics on it look great but I want at least a 50 inch now but don't know between the two. Ive read online that plasma is better for gaming & vice versa. What do the gamers on this board say? peace

Actually, I heard plasma is not good. LCD better. I heard from a person who sells tv's.

Played on both and couldn't really see any difference tbh. Plasma is meant to have quicker response time for gaming but I couldn't tell.

gaming on a plasma tv will create a burn in

over time you will be watching a movie and call of duty will remain on the screen faintly and cant be fixed as its burned in the screen

plasma is just for watching movies in dark rooms

gaming is best done on lcd and watching tv in well lit places I would recommend lcd

I had this dilemma recently as I bought a new TV. Plasma looks better for darker images, LCD for brighter images. LCD is better during the day coz the sunlight doesn't reflect. Plasma is better for fast action scenes and better at viewing the TV from a angle. New plasma's don't burn the screen. So whats better depends on what your setup.

I eneded up going with a 50 inch Samsung Plasma, it has the anti burn technology as well as the anti reflecting for it. I had a Sharp Aquos LCD, personally I think games look so much better on a Plasma. As far as response time, I don't really see too much of a difference. My intial concern was the burn in but newere Plasmas have the tech now to conquer that. Im happy with it.
