Man.......first class.was genuinely a great movie, a well.done take on their origin story..and jesus christ...halle berry as storm makes me cringe.

Looks wise Halle Berry is a good storm in my opinion. I always thought Hilary banks could play storm, not what she looks like today, but what she looked like on fresh prince.

There's a lot riding on this movie when you think about it. I think people see the original cast and automatically remember the awful 'Last Stand' movie. The reboot gave the franchise another chance though. Mixing the old and new cast is risky as if it's shit you have two casts looking bad. As there have been too many medium or poor movies in this franchise already, even a decent third movie, with either cast, won't save the franchise.

Good question! There have been a good amount since, but the only actors I can think of BEFORE her have little caveats involved:

Ron Perlman had done Marvel and DC characters, but mostly on television series.

Patrick Stewart's Captain Picard character had been depicted in DC Comics for years when he stepped into the Professor X role, but in that case, the comic was based on the show, so I suppose it doesn't count
