The album is whack as I expected. I give him props for Bad Guy though, the honesty on his music falling to shit made me respect that track.
haha don't know what to say to that.
Let me see if i can sum up her appeal. Lets leave her attractiveness out of it.
She looks like a dirty bird. She has a robot voice that sounds like shes utterly heartless and inhuman. She never stops throwing her half naked body in your face, not even for a day. Even if you don't want to hear or see her, you will see her wearing a revealing outfit and looking like shes dying to suck dick.
Also her lack of personality is intriguing, shes like a total brainwashed drone to the music industry. I guess its that she appeals to a mans fantasy of a girl that is purely a sexual plaything. Its very strange, and i understand that people can look at these reasons and hate her for exactly that.
I obviously wanted to hate it, but i couldn't.
Half of it is fucking terrible, just delete them songs and you've got 8 or 9 fun and funny Eminem songs with a little MMLP flavor.
Probably, theres a couple of other tracks that are ok & nods to the first album are cool but I think they just stand out because of the amount of cringeworthy material on here. Will give it another chance but I ended up skipping through most of it on first listen, shame
i've been hearing that this thing is actually pretty good...
Goes without saying that it doesn't touch the first. The worst songs are some of the worst of his career: The Monster, Rap God, Asshole, Berzerk, Stronger are all death defyingly wack.
To me the rest of it is a lot of fun. It would have been nice to have something as violently offensive as 'Kim' or as intelligent as 'Criminal' but that Eminems gone. About as close as he gets is just unironically bashing fags and women. Take it for what it is, a mixed bag of a fun comedy/pop album.
lol, dunno about it being worse than Encore
This is my best to worst ranking of Eminem albums:
Slim Shady LP
Marshall Mathers LP
Devils Night
Relapse
Bad Meets Evil
Eminem Show
Marshall Mathers LP 2
Encore
D12 World
Recovery
Encore was half dope, half whack to me. The only song I can see replaying off of MMLP2 is Bad Guy because of the creative story. Everything else just seems bland and poppy. Eminem's singing makes my ears bleed.
Oh well, there'll always be Infinite...
Thought Infinite was overrated too, probably didn't help that I heard it after his slim shady stuff
I disagree. The wordplay on that album is unlike any I've heard before or since. I also like how genuine he is in songs like "It's Ok" where he details his struggles, really relatable stuff.
The production has its bland moments, but joints like "Open Mic" are spot on; that bassline is excellent!
His major label LPs are dope, don't get me wrong. But those albums haven't grown on me well as I've aged, most likely due to his persona. I need to be in a specific mood to bump em.
