Where is this opinion that Em can still bring it coming from? He hasn't been remotely dope since D12's Devils Night album which was the REAL MMLP2

I believe Em is still intelligent and experienced enough to bring us the Em we want to hear but he's decided to go off on this screeching/preaching persona.

He must see this as a progression of his music/art and as any true artist knows, He aint ever gonna care about what other people think of it but fuck it, its up to him but I know I won't be listening to this rubbish.

I guess cage is truly the embodiment of the rap style that they both shared and fought for the crown of and Em was just cruising through it as a stepping stone to the corny sober light.

Yep. He used that to get over, and once he solidified himself he got comfortable. But he got so comfortable that he eventually fucked himself up.

He should have kept the Infinite style in my opinion. He would have had an entirely different career no doubt; but if you want rhymes, the Infinite album rhymes just about everything throughout each track. Excellent wordplay on display.

Even directly afterward he was destroying joints.

This latest Berzerk track just shows Eminem running on fumes, trying way too hard to remain the pop sensation that he himself would have dissed a decade earlier. I'll listen to what I can of this new album, but it very well may signify the nail in the coffin for Em's career. People will buy the album, because it's Eminem. But someone will eventually speak up and tell him to stop shitting in our ears with his "dairy of diarrhea."

i wont comment on em's horrible, overproduced-yet-not-thought-out-well-at-all single.

instead i will post a couple songs that display the fact that at one time mc's were kinda scared to get on a track with this white boy.

but x & royce were two that hung with him just fine.

sad to think he can go from that to this, expectations were already low but now I'll be happy with 1-2 decent tracks on this album. Hope I'm wrong but I won't build my hopes up!

Well, for me, I thought Eminem still had it when I saw his Westwood appearance. However, that's 3 years old now and the albums he put out during that time did not show that form. 'Bad Meets Evil' was alright but I can't really say I listen to it much.

I still can't believe his limited work with outside producers, especially Alchemist being his DJ for a number of years.

The Westwood freestyle for sure....he was spitting sack shit on relapse then dropped heat on that freestyle session....so he's capable but seems to not bring it out in his songs....just freestyles

Only a few years ago Hip Hop purists may have felt superior listening to hard core while their less enlightened companions snacked on commercial rap. As Shaolin research began to point out the overwhelming benefits of raw production, true hip hop enthusiasts started turning back to traditional styles. Wu-Tang in particular, has been shown to myriad beneficial effects, from warding off ignorance and poverty to reducing the risk of incarceration and death.
