Only a few years ago Hip Hop purists may have felt superior listening to hard core while their less enlightened companions snacked on commercial rap. As Shaolin research began to point out the overwhelming benefits of raw production, true hip hop enthusiasts started turning back to traditional styles. Wu-Tang in particular, has been shown to myriad beneficial effects, from warding off ignorance and poverty to reducing the risk of incarceration and death.
just 10 songs?
Yup for real. No joke. No Photoshop.
s "Do U Feel Me" got changed to "Ear to the Speaker"?
^ yup. and fyi "ear of the speaker" and "sparkle" use a lot of the same lyrics...maybe all the same but i'd need to listen again to confirm that.
Im assuming Sparkle reuses MK's verse from Ear to the Speaker
I think it's sounding really nice. Makes me wish that 4th, Rza, and True would all produce tracks on the next Wu album like they did for Forever. And hopefully if more people support quality releases like this by purchasing then more quality will get released. It might be only 40 minutes in length, with a few extra minutes of instrumental on a track (ear to the speaker) and some recycled lyrics (ear to the speaker and sparkle), but I like unfinished rawness like that.
Is that Rae snippet from '07 on there!?
i suppose i should add that this def isn't a proper release of this album. for instance the kp song sounds really rough, as do some others. but personally that adds a little allure to me, because who's to say that it will EVER see a proper release ya know? Shyheim comes correct, and Cap sounds nice too. if it ever gets the proper treatment with maybe a few more tracks this could be really nice. but True Master has earned his $15 from me...how many times have I replayed some of his productions, and how much has he really profited off it? I can spare $15 for him to release a possibly in-progress album because he needs the funds. shit i wish more wu would release their stash and maybe if people support they will.
