Rappers are full of shit. Cuban Linx 2, Marshall Mathers 2, Stillmatic, Blueprints etc all have nothing at all to do with the original. They're just too lazy to come up with something original and they exploit fans nostalgia for sales.

Pillage 2 won't sell shit though, everyone expects it to be a load of shitty producers you never heard of and Cap spitting lazy goon shit.

This is true. How come it doesn't have anything to do with the original and doesn't remind us of the same sound or direction. Just make new albums with original album names. A sequel has to follow up to the original or else it's just for the reasons you mentioned: money and fans nostalgia. If Raekwon would be announcing Lex Diamonds Story Part 2 everyone would be disappointed, but if he would announce another Cuban Linx everyone will get hyped...so easily fooled.

What is the fuckin point of a 'sequel' or a 'part 2' in album terms? Unless an album has a certain theme or story running throughout it then fair enough, like Deltron 3030.

But the Pillage? As dope as it was it was just a hardcore east coast hip-hop album that happened to have some decent rhymes by Cappa and some dope production. No theme or story involved. So The Pillage 2 is just fuckin bullshit.

And Cuban Linx 2 was a very dope album but compare to the original it didnt flow at all like a story like the original did, too many diff producers. Yeah it continued the crime theme but that was it.
