No back in the day, Tooth faked his death. He had Graveyard Shifter come and announce that he knows him in real life and that he's dead. The thread had 0 replies until he came back to life LOL. Then everyone just kept talking about how nobody cares that he died and how he died alone in a 1 bedroom apt with a can of Chef Boy R Dee and shit.

You really missed when this forum was worthwhile. Anyways, I'll be out for a few days, you gays be safe

T$A, you need credit cards to have a good credit score.

Barely anyone has a credit card here. We use them for travel and online purchases, not to pay for our debts, and they are usually paid off at the end of the month so no interest.

We don't really do debt like you guys do. You need a decent job and some savings to buy a house. We also don't buy a new car every 2 or 3 years unless we can really afford them.

I don't even think there is such a thing as credit score here although the banks probably keep track of our money.

So Darryl you put lower interest student loans on a higher Interest credit card thinking that this will make you not have student loans?

    spot on.

although I'd like to add we have credit cards that only make you pay off a fixed amount each month - so not all cards necessarily have you cancel out your full debt by the following month. unlike Rame I do (well did) use credit cards to pay off debts

just to provide you with an example. I had a credit card that gave me access to $6,250. I could spend however much of that amount to my liking. I had to pay off $300 a month. if you don't have financial disciplin (like me) it's easy to see how you'll just keep on spending crazy amounts CUZ YOU NEVER SPEND THAT $6,250 in one full month. as long as you could pay $300 by next month you were golden. I probably spent over $25,000 or 30,000 on that card over a five year period. of course interest was crazy, 11,5% in my case. There's a time limit to when you have to pay off the full amount though, for example 5 years, like in my specific case. (this is government regulation to try and keep people out of debt). If you still have to pay off a BIG amount by the end of that period (like me, I was still $4,500 in after 5 years) a lot of banks will just cancel your credit card and put you on a credit plan with a different name (to get around the government issued restrictions) with a higher interest rate (13% or higher) and a shorter end date. That does not make sense in any way except the banks can rely on you spending moarr

Idk if this is how credit cards work in the US too?

Rame did not discuss this because he is SMART with money ( = did not need access to those type of cards) and I'm a DUMBASS haha.

btw we also have cards that have a phone number on them. You call them and say 'yo I need $2,500 on my account RIGHT NOW'. And they go : 'okay!'. Towards the end of my financial trouble I had a card like that too. my bank issued it to me about a year before they put the brakes on me. crazy interest rates of course haha

you only have access to these type of cards if banks see they can still get all the debt out of you if necessary in the very end, like in my case a steady job and a house (I still have monthly downpayments on the house too of course, I got seven more years to go)

all said and done last December the bank called me in to say I had used up all of the formulas they had suggested and the game was up. I'm on a three-year $12,500 pay off plan now, having to pay off $375 a month. it's not a credit plan cuz obviously that $375 doesn't get me anything material. it's just a final pay off plan. I have been barred officially from access to any credit cards and I cannot go in the red anymore on my own bank account either (I used to be able to go minus $1,600 on my account on a monthly basis, not connected to credit cards)

I have discussed my personal financial situation on here before, but I hope with the above update yall get some idea as to how credit cards work around here too

to provide some extra perspective : my central heating ghosted on me early February (no spare parts for repair available any more, it's an old model) and incidentally my washing machine died on me today (the pump gave out). I cannot just simply call in to a firm now and pay them later (as I said I've been barred from credit). so I hope to pay for both of these domestic costs in April when I get my annual tax return. that means no hot water till April (I shower with relatives down the block) and taking dirty clothes to the laundromat

trust me, don't dumb out on money hahaha. in 2017 I had a few months where I had $30 left to spend during the last week of the month, cuz I had maxed out on all credit plans by that time of the month. never did miss out on a Wu release which just goes to show you HOW STUPID I am lol

btw my relatives told me they'd front me the money for the heating and the washing machine (no interest rate) but I'd rather wait instead of owing people money again

most people round here use credit cards sensibly the way Rame described it

btw we also have store credit cards just like Americans (I think). I had those kind of credit lines with several stores too. my bank canceled them out last December.

like Rame said we don't have a public credit score. but in my experience banks do keep tabs on your spending habits and have an unofficial credit score for their customers. this explains them calling me in to the bank on various occasions when my debts hit a new level of LOW.

Wasn’t it Art who broke the news that Douche died? Still funny as fuck that nobody cared. IIRC wasn’t it a suicide too?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Art and Douche were the same person, they constantly have this split personality old men who haven’t had pussy since Reagan was president conversations with ‘each other’ something doesn’t make sense between them

The best thing about that prank was how memorable it still is. That had to be almost a decade ago and Darryl recalls it so clearly.

    Good times.

And Hound I’m impressed with your knowledge of America and the NFL. You probably watch it more than I do.

And TH don’t think that I don’t see how you subtly try to mimic everything I do. The signing of posts, the “conversations only me and Art understand between each other”. I just used that on you. But you try to flip it just a little like OBCL shark biter skit.

I don’t blame you. I’d want to be more American too.

From what I gather, instead of getting lower interest student loans, he instead put them on higher interest credit cards.

If that’s true, he a true fucking moron. Youth is not even an excuse for that.

just for clarity. You can't sign up for the next set of classes if you owe a balance for the previous. So at the end of the quarter, take off whatever balance was remaining with my credit card and handle it then. Unfortunately I eventually couldn't pay a whole quarter and that fucked things up. Otherwise my credit is decent, but I want it to be great.
and @Art, yes I understand that having a credit card is a means to improving your score, though I stopped using them for years, until recent.

You gays be safe and kind to each other.
