Mazaradi Fox shot and killed in Queens

A rapper linked to 50 Cent's 'G-Unit' has been shot dead when a gunman wearing a ski mask opened fire on his car.

Mazaradi Fox, 42, whose real name is Jamal Green, suffered fatal gunshot injuries to the chest during the attack in the Queens area of New York on Friday.

He was said to have stumbled from his SUV, before collapsing and dying in a nearby driveway.

Three other people who were in the car were also wounded in the attack, one of them critically.

A 22-year-old man was shot in the arm and a woman in her 20s suffered a graze to the neck.

Fox was a former member of G-Unit, the rap crew founded by 50 Cent. He appeared in many videos with the group and recorded songs with 50 Cent.


50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, tweeted his condolences - but controversially included the hashtag of his headphones brand SMS Audio.

Local resident Devon Powell told the New York Post he heard the gunfire, but at first thought it was fireworks.

"It was like bap, bap, bap, bap!" he said, before he looked out of his window and "saw a white dude bleeding in the car."
