Honestly, I prefer RZA, Havoc, Muggs, 4th and probably Pete Rock over Premo.

To me I would Rza over Premo, but the margin is slim. Rza's work on the 36 chambers, meth's, Gza, Rae, Odb, ghostface and Forever is probably the greatest run in hip hop history. Timeless shit there.
Preemo's work on everything from Daily operation to the ownerz, also Jeru's first 2 albums and Group home's first joint are also top notch in my opinion. Plus the work he did for nas and jay z makes him easily a close 2nd.
Havoc to me was real dope on infamous and hell on earth, but after that the quality fell off for me.
All those who say preemo just chops up samples but the wants to put muggs and alchemist ahead of preemo makes me laugh. Hell alc nowadays doesn't even chop, his formula is find obscure sample, loop it, don't add any drums, and boom you got a beat. Lol. And alc couldn't hold prem's jock.
I could give you guys Pete rock because he made true classics but he doesn't even come close to prem's or Rza's work.
I would take Stoupe over a lot of producers anyway. The shit that dude put out and continues to put out is crazy.
