and ya, if this isn't the fnal mix on the beat then good. shits got a funky bassline that is mucked up in the mix, mastering it will only bring that out more.

This is what I've been trying to tell all the time. Making album doesn't mean that you write your verse, record it and send to the producer. They should go to studio for a few week and make it together, be focused on the work, write lyrics together, tell to RZA what should stay, what should be removed... just the chemistry. If you ever made music you will know that sitting with someone else in studio/home gives a special kind of energy. That's how to Wu should work, then they could give 100% of them. This is the way that the concept of album is being built.

Now we know how it was recorded, RZA called Meth saying "Yo, Cappa I need ya verse on tomorrow", "Ok I got'cha man". RZA after getting all the verses, sat down and said "it's gonna be called 'Keep watch'. It doesn't matter the lyrics ain't got nothin' with it"

I always thought that RZA would never want to go back old skool wu. He's always shown his music as a development of methodology and ideas.

When I listen to a wu track now I sense that they try to have a soulful sounding beat with some singing and a rap that compliments the beat which is used.

Old wu was just grimey lo-if tracks with adolescent angst.

I thought it was ridiculous in that article where he said using live instruments is the mature way to do it.

He had a big hand in probably 10 plus classic albums using samplers and just the occasional keyboard or guitar. His egos too big. He needs Rick Rubin to get in there and slap him back to reality. Rick Rubin could seriously bring him back to basics of production rather than showing off which he should save for his solo albums.
