lol at this idea...where is that Wu Fails thread?
pretty genius marketing idea. regardless of anything else; the more unique
the idea, the more discussion it'll provoke.
I don't really post on this board but I have been a member for a years now and check out the forum from time to time.
I think this idea is little far fetched, firstly Wu commercially are no Jay Z in terms of sales. So Samsung, Sony or Apple would never pay 1 mil let alone 5 mil for this to leak it or release it. Cilvaringz may get a few people going to the museum's to listen to it, but the novelty will soon die and no will give a shit about it. End of the day people want a copy to listen to where and when they want, that's the purpose of music. Lol art yeah right. No one will buy the "one" copy for a million $/£, so ringz will end up selling it to label for much less who will release it, just like he did with the WuKi package.
I'm a bit disappointed with Ringz, as he always hypes up things, asks for fans opinions and views on which version is better, saying he working on this and that etc, etc. He posts the names of the artists on each track of this album, gets everyone hyped up, then he pulls this shady move.
Cilvaringz let me ask you one question:
Being a Wu fan like all of us on this board, how would you feel if you been waiting for this to drop and getting all hyped up then being told nah one copy go to a museum and experience it there?
You'd be pissed, like most on this forum. And I'm not hattin' on you Ringz, I actually think you're a dope producer and I copped your debut the day it was released.
The game of chess, is like a swordfight
You must think first, before you move.
so this person who pays in the millions for the box, do they buy the rights to the masters as well?
^^^thats what I'd like to know. Who owns the publishing?
According to the reporter behind the Forbes article:
"The purchase price covers the master recordings and the producer's publishing rights. The guest artists who contributed to songwriting and production retain their own publishing. Wu-Tang retains the right to 'tour' the album."

Cilvaringz said he wouldn't let us down. Its not a nice thought if Cilvaringz wants this to be a commonplace in the future. Imagine all your favorite artists selling single copy albums to art collecting banker douche types.
At that point i'd just give up and listen to myself play guitar.
I don't think that has any chance of happening though. This is more of a novelty idea. Its cool though hopefully the installation will have some cool shit in it besides the music, maybe some wu-tang artefacts, footage etc.
I honestly wouldn't go to a gallery to listen if it was free, regardless of the artist.
Haha, fucken classic.
Word homie. Couldn't agree more.I honestly wouldn't go to a gallery to listen if it was free, regardless of the artist.
The only thing I can think of that would be worse than sitting in a lifeless museum listening to an album on headphones, would be sitting in a lifeless museum listening to a DOUBLE album on headphones.
