Anybody who pays to listen to this shit needs to die.

This is the most pretentious thing that's ever happened in music. And for what? A fucking bunch of no-hopers from the ghetto who don't actually have any musical talent (well maybe Rza), and wouldn't even know a C from a G or what a key is. It actually makes me angry how ridiculous and pretentious this is. I really would like to spit on anybody who pays to hear this shit. Acting like a fucking bunch of bums kicking simple rhymes over samples of music that somebody else wrote and played is some sort of sacred fucking art. Get over yourselves for fucks sake.

I'm not having a go at hip hop as a whole. I appreciate and enjoy it for what it is. I don't pretend these guys are real musicians though. The thing is, even if Radiohead or Nick Drake or somebody had pulled some shit like this I would be incensed at how pretentious it is.

Fuck I hope this fails as miserably as you'd surely expect it to.

Just let me choose what headphones to use.

    NO BULLSHIT RZA/DRE HEADPHONES.

no they arent, thats the problem.

they are no venues in my city that play into this idea. therefore i need to drive to some major city just to hear the album once (unless it finds a normal release)........ you dont even have to pay 30-50$ for any new release on CD, and you can keep that shit.

the main issue i have with all this, is that it just makes us all look like suckers dangling from a hook. they got us all baited........

This will probably never come to Australia and on the off chance it ever did it would 1) cost $50-70 and 2) probably be the last leg of the world tour and be 5 years later

I ain't paying the same amount to hear a fucking Cilvaringz record one time as I have to see the Ancient Egypt Pharoah's exhibit Lmao

Anyone who goes to a museum to hear this shit a sucker, straight up.

Perhaps, the marketing process consists just in manipulating our perception of an album value and our response to the question : how much would i pay to own this (like for the heavy mental unreleased songs LP, the heavy mentwo one, the Killa Sin LP or what it was supposed to be ; in few words : the 50-100$ LP). You publish a fantasmatic story at the first promo stage, make a few moves later and finally sell it at a high but more "decent" price (50-100-200... a 99,999999...99 % off sale lol) that you couldn' t justify at first. This is the business part. It's a common technique.

But the main question is : who wants to listen this in 2014 ? Even for free ?

A simple misconception about what those who loved the Wu in its prime can appreciate today and the reasons why a song can touch people can void all this. This is the artistic part.

And perhaps it is totally something else.

Two questions I really need answering:

1/ What if I decide to go late afternoon to the museum, the headphones will probably be covered in Wu-Stan sweat by this point, and probably to an extent, Wu-Stan-Seaman. How will this be addressed?

2/ Are the likes of Hollowfartz and FathersCrime banned from going to the museum and listening to this also? How will this be enforced?

its creation of demand when its already there. they are just dictating how its going to be released and how the fans can go about getting it/pay for it.

Heres an important question. Will the museums even allow this? My guess is not many would approve. Peace

I was vaguely interested in this album until I realized I'll never hear it.

this was probably part of the plan and arranged already with certain muesums, most likely world renowned ones to increase publicity

"Daddy, how come we've been eating stale bread for dinner all week?"

"Well Junior, that's because Daddy had to put aside this week's grocery money so that he could hear the new album by a group of no-hopers who kicked some pretty fly rhymes a couple of decades ago when they were in their prime and actually got along with each other. These days they're like a pack of little school girls who bicker amongst themselves constantly, but surely that's no reason why they can't make the greatest piece of music ever, worthy of a $50 single listening."

"Ok Daddy. I understand. You're such a good daddy. I love you."

Bold move, didn't see it coming. I like it. Will be very interesting to see what the purchaser decide to do with it.

Could be a rich eccentric wu-head who buys it and never shares it with anyone.... making it the album people talk/speculate about for years, but never get to hear....

Or could be a lable/company who use it for some kind of promo (a la Samsung with Jay-Z).

Either way, the point of the project being released this way (so far as I can tell) isn't to rip off fans by charging $50 to hear the album once.... it's to make a statement about the music: Albums used to be special. A body of work to be appreciated and absorbed. Now things are so readily accessible and disposable - people don't appreciate the product as a piece of art.

(Some albums don't deserve to be treated as art, but that's another debate altogether.)

To Ringz: I say bravo. I hope you pull this off.
