Yeah its possible for some to get out of poverty if they are smart and motivated and don't have bad habits and personal history that affects them too much. Most people aren't that though. In order for a lot of poor people to become rich and successful a lot of people born rich would have to become poor failures. That almost never happens.

This is exactly the environment I spent my teens in. And this lil bitch ain't special, god rest her soul. I knew plenty rats like her. But the funny thing is that when you're in the middle of it, focused on nothing but getting out of it, all the gangsters and stupidity and death are just like background noise. And most of the time you are completely oblivious to how close you come to dying everyday. And that's the way it has to be if you don't wanna go crazy, or worse, fall in with the crowd.
