Damn, everyone gave out when mainstream hiphop was full of the most dumbed down splistic lyrics over those trap beats, and now that actual LYRICS are back in the mainstream, people are still complaining.

Do people really think mainstream r popular hiphop is better now than it was in the mid-late 2000's? Saying yes coz u older and like to listen to younger rappers isn't an answer.

Everyone did the Wayne style rap over that beat. Even Mos Def. His flow in that became the Slick Rick Children's Story craze for his gen. Everyone was doing the Wayne verse with different words. It was crazy. I never heard a verse like that.

If you can't hear that I don't get it. Like I said, someone like Kendrick Lamar, his entire rap style, flow, intonation, etc is HEAVILY influenced by Lil Wayne on A MIllie, whether you recognize or accept it or not.

Wayne went shit and lost his mind but no one of these current gen rappers has even done a hollywood divorce verse.

There is some good shit out there but the majority are wack, sometimes i see a interview with one of those wack mainstream artists and they say they grew up listening to Wayne & Gucci or some shit and I go ''ahhh it makes sense now"

ok I guess people did like that milli song cuz I saw its won lots of awards and people did freestyles over it on mixtapes (although they might've just been using the beat to get attention).

I saw the mos def freestyle and that was possibly just the first beat that came on and I think u can only flow over that beat like lil wayne (the beats very choppy).

plus mos def makes fun of wayne

but I don't think any of this means anything. it still doesn't make him good. im sure lots of people were copying vanilla ice and i don't think he was good.

I don't like lil wayne cuz his voice and beats annoy me. I guess hes funny sometimes and he occasionally has a witty line but I think his lyrics are usually corny.
