Abu Dhabi location confirmed for Star Wars movie
Rumors abounded, but producer Kathleen Kennedy finally confirmed today, IN Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi's paying for 30% of the total cost of the taping in their country. In exchange 6 Abu Dhabi youngsters get the chance to work on the set.

That's pretty much all you need to know in terms of whether or not this will be good.
If anything Disney generally makes much higher quality films than any Star Wars movie.
They're just very one dimensional, childish films. I don't know how anybody could argue against that. I've seen them all and none of them are really worth repeat viewings unless i'm high as shit.
I never really got how star wars is just for kids. do kids actually like reading about the politics and current affairs at the start of each star wars movie?
Disney makes good movies as well.

I wouldn't say Star Wars is just for kids, its also for dumb people. Lol nah i think a lot of kids grew up with it so they're fans as adults. I really don't think you could sell A New Hope or even Empire as a great piece of cinema without nostalgic strings attached. I don't think it caters to adults at all. Theres nothing beneath the surface, its all shiny lightsabres, good and evil, teddy bears etc.
If you watch the average Pixar movie these days, them shits are deep. They work on the kid level and the adult level. If they could somehow use that style maybe they could make it something other than a horrible money spinning exercise.

some of this true. I don't think the first 2 star wars movies were that overly into commercialism. its when ewoks came out that people started complaining about that.
some people see things beneath the surface. like how yoga is less calm in the prequels whereas in the original trilogy hes more monk like. some even think theres a warning in how the democratic galactic republic was destroyed through lies and deceit.
im sure anyone can find things beneath the surface in any movie.
but I think the best thing about star wars is its universe. its so imaginative and pretty huge. u can say the same things about star trek, simple moral messages no real massive character development etc but great universe. the same applies to lord of the rings. I think Tolkien even said he didn't care about the characters but cuz the lord of the rings universe is so good it doesn't matter. I suppose theres an allegory in lord of the rings but its very simple and just a Christian good vs evil. I can also mention HP Lovecraft as well.
yeah I think itd be far better to get people on Pixar who care about the original star wars series and who have more talent than George lucas. George lucas has made star wars very gimmicky so Pixar is far more trustworthy.
