^ I always play through the story mode for any game first b4 the online play....just helps learning the mechanics before you get merked by the people who live in their parent's basement with their significant other aka their game console :P

I got it and I got no complaints so far, don't really care much for the stage fatalities but I don't see them not adding that to the game at some point. story mode is definitely though because you get a feel for each character so you become well versed in how to use all of them in VS mode. this is all I've been playing since it came out

^ You should cop Mortal Kombat (MK 9). The storyline is solid, the guest characters are decent (Kratos from GoW; Freddy Krueger; Cyborg Sub-Zero, etc) and I'd recommend playing it before MK X to avoid getting lost in what's going on.

I bought MK 9 the Komplete Edition (includes all DL content without having to buy online) @ a Wal-Mart for $20

def worth it, especially since the character & stage fatalities are much smoother to execute now, plus they incorporated a practice mode for fatalities too.

Is it worth Buying at $60 now or should it be waited on when they drop it to $40 around Black Friday.....Which can be paid on line and not in line to get into the stores
