im too young to be using credit cards but what the fuck is that shit ur saying, Gaz, about only using cash. that's stupid. do u not even have a debit card? carrying large sums of money around with you is stupid and booking a hotel/flight is going to be a far bigger hassle.

The main benefit is that you increase your credit rating which helps getting loans and mortgages. Its like a trust system between you and the bank. The bank wants to know if you will pay up when you borrow money from them. Ideally when you buy something with a credit card you have the money in the bank so you pay it back quickly and without paying any interest which can be a killer on some cards.

I only started using my credit card because its so much better if your travelling abroad. Don't have to deal with foreign currencies and it works everywhere.

Then of course if you earn well and use your card often you get rewards and bonuses. With them for example if your at airports you can enter the CIP lounges, you get massive discounts on hotels etc etc.

I guess it just goes against my whole paranoid way of thinking, I'm renting and I can't see getting tied into a mortgage or borrowing money until I absolutely have to. I don't like the idea of being in debt especially to a soulless corporation.
