Song still sucks. Mainly because of the hook, but the "live" shit still ain't working for me neither.. It's just not the "real" Wu-sound

The thing is, if the 'live' thing is done well it can sound dope as fuck... like that recent track with Ghost and BadBadNotGood... shit sounds ill. Twelve Reasons To Die had a lot of dope beats too, Murder Spree, Return of the GFK, Cobblestones, etc.
This shit doesn't sound right though, and I dunno what it is... just sounds bland.
Peace!
^ I agree. For me the drums are too weak.
Hopefully this is one of the weaker tracks on the album.

Plus some of the the bass arrangements sound like what you can find in uninspired old pop music :

I was really surprised by that when i first heard Ron O'Neal. In my dreams we should hear lines like (i always think about RZA & the elements while listening to it) :

and i don't like the bass tone, its grain. It lacks of body (we are pretty far from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1xmXOP3lhM for example).
Even bass lines like in this

would have been sufficient.
Edit : Or i'm fooling myself about the grain and it's because the lines are really too flat (i believe the evil deeds ones seems also to be flat but have a little dynamic). : Edit
The choice of how each instrument must sound is a part of the composition. If they aren't able to make the drums have a decent sound, they also can sample it at least for the studio LP.
