When I was in college, I happen to read a paper regarding the Spinosaurus. Little was know prior to this because the main fossil of this dinosaur was on display in German during WWII. Unfortunately, the specimen was destroyed due to bombing.

I had a feeling the Spinosaurus was some type of aquatic animal because of the crocodile like skull. Other reptiles dating back to the Permian or even the Triassic Period contained fins.

I am glad that paleontologists were able to figure this out and bring the facts about the Spinosaurus to light.
