I was thinking the same thing, a bunch of white people and/or jews are getting paid out of all the hysteria by black people over a black superhero.

As a film fan I find these superhero movies to be lowest common denominator garbage for the most part anyway. Its very rare that they try to do anything interesting or artful, especially Marvel because they micromanage everything to make sure it fits the rest of their brand.

I feel like I didn't fully enjoy Watchmen or Sin City because I didn't get into the series before the movie. They were both made very heavily for their built-in audience, which isn't a bad thing, but the rest of us didn't 'get it'.

They're making a Batman that's more based on the 70s detective-style Batman as opposed to the 80s style that's been more popular movie-wise. If done right, it'll be great. It reflects on the Batman I personally grew up reading from old comics more. Makes for way better writing. Not taking anything away from the Dark Knight series though. That'll be hard to top.

Well, someone white getting money for making a movie about someone black doesn't make the movie bad. If it's a good movie, it's well deserved. Also, nobody is really checking for what you enjoy.

I didn't say it made the movie bad, just that black people are treating it like its really advancing the cause of black people when its just another goofy comic book film that in the end benefits whites more than blacks.

I don't think people need to check for stuff that I like, just expressing an opinion. This genre is literally the most formulaic of all film genres, and I don't think thats disputable.
