I knew it, that shitty singing chorus was something only RZA could of added (chilling with Yeezy too much?) as part of Miracle. Damn so both Math n RZA are responsible for 40th St?

That "Felt" beat is horrible. The mix, the 808 kicks, it's almost like they got some reverb. Unhearable.

I noticed that the kung fu skit from HGW leading to Wolves is reused again at the end of Preachers Daughter

    Default Fuck The haters

I rarely comment on this thread but a lot of you are wrong!

This is by far the most incredible piece of music in Hip-Hop in the last 5 years. the hate from you guys is shocking, would you rather it wasn't released, the only track that i could skip if i wanted too is Family Reunion, not because it was bad but because it has been out for a long period of time.

If this was an album by anyone other than Wu everyone would think it was amazing.

I seriously cannot stop listening to it!!! It is addictive. Only negative is too much cappa.

Love the hooks on most tracks "We keep it rugged, we keep it rough" Similar to "bring da muthafuckin ruckus" yeah nathaniel is a twat but who cares they are the singles to commercialise the album they have to try and make money.

This is my opinion from someone that worships everything wu puts out yeah it isn't enter the 36 but then ghostbusters 2 is not as good as the original but they are both still awesome.

    1. Ruckus in B - The beat switch is movie like EPIC > one of my fav moments on the album, U-God nice verse keeps the song going showing he is like rya said blossoming at a late stage - Hook ill from meth, Deck sets off well until he talks about his Tv references bit corny. Reza feels like he is only mentioning top tier talent to keep them happy & ghost and cap wow should of not had the extended version however , that GZA verse though 10/10

    2. Felt - Remember Assassnation day beat - but notably no Rae, They say felt an awful lot but it is different and the melody comes and go's which is effective - Method Man steals show. Great track 7/10

    3. We will fight - a lot of hate for this track but one of my fav's so catchy hook. this song reminds me of a song i hated at first radioactive assassins but grows on you, it just so fucking marching to war, love how the beat gets harder at the end, Fast paced moves through the emcees quick then the track is over like pow. Hard to pick the best MC TBH 8.5/10

    4. Mistaken Identity - Just Wow, really like this sounds like the better tracks of 8D (Wolves beat change in there) real rock vibe with melody, U-God verse grows on me props best on track, Cappa is fairly strong on here, streetlife on the hook, the melody will not leave my head, it really is a great track MC's all on point! 8/10

    5. Hold the heater - beat comes out of nowhere from Rza intro, Hook is some smack your face hook, melody catchy and annoyingly good, One of Cappa's best verses and he sets it off nice, Meth closes the track with his energetic flow 8/10

    6. Crushed Ego's - Beat matures throughout the song, It is basically Rae solo track one would say maybe a demand of his to record his final verses, nice background tune church like, Rae lyrics insane Rza chorus fucking good and catchy, first was my weakest song on album, but seem to find myself singing it another bring da ruckus chorus, this will probably been a banger in a few years. atm 7.5/10

    7. Keep Watch Ft. nathanugirl - if you are a wu fan you would of heard this Meth steals the track, good single funky beat spoiled by commercial hook, hook would be good if once or twice in the song, I think the wrong emcees were selected for this song, however sounds a lot better in flow with the album, it does its job as lead single expect video 7/10

    8. Miracle - RIGHT this song. Nothing like wu has made i don't know whether to hate or love - lyrics from generals are amazing. Rae Steals it, but it sounds like a christmas song/movie...... i really don't know, this sng is saved by going soft to fucking hard Ghost comes in I can't go to sleep style over a harder rock version of the song. I JUST DONT KNOW AAAAH FUCK YOU WU 8/10

    9. Preacher's Daughter - LEAD SINGLE hands down, catchy gets no love from wucorp as imagined, and a commercial enough adaption for the mainstream to recognise, people were nodding their head on first play in my car that don't even like hip-hop - Ghost & Cappa smash it i'm going 9/10 love this track but could get boring fairly quickly ah them greasy bastards!

The next two tracks remind me of the dark gritty switch up in 8d Windmill/Weakspot

    10. Pioneer - This is Wu-TANG 93-97 that is all i can say U-GOD is MVP, Rza is not Rza he is narrater Rza but i like how he starts, this is like i don't know U-God Turbelance mixed with raekwon chop chop ninja (no chorus) mixed with enter the 36 gritty even master says it THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED BACK CLASSIC WU 9.5/10

    11. Necklace - This is raw, brother that necklace is a right bastard by the time the song finished, this is one song along with mistaken that sounds as though members were in a recording studio, think Rae & ghost like this one they brung A Game, Cappa sets off reminds me off careful track more structured NICE 9/10

    12. Ron O neal - Deck does best set off, Rza hands down on this track spits a crazy verse, could of been faster, Nathaniel hook is short so works should be the album title track though Ron o Neal?? Rza says it once, what makes this track sound better than the earlier leaked version is the mix into the album at the start, really well done. 8/10

    13. A better tomorrow - It's not my fav at all but will grow on me I know Meth goes in here and smashes his verse seems too short though. Can't stand hook though. Should of maybe been last song would of fit in better imo, Rae goes in My least fav 6/10

    14. Never let go, good cohesion between the emcees sounds as though they are together on this one Gza verse is good, MK goes off, U-GOD FUNNY! seems a little rough and filler though deck really needs to stop referencing WWE he been hanging round with Czarface too much lol. 7/10

15 - Wu-Tang Renunion - Weakest Track but fun, MK & Meth go in and great Ghost >ODB reference, but shitty single makes this my lowest rated song 5.5/10

THIS ALBUM IS A CLASSIC SITS ABOVE IRON FLAG AND 8D ON THE GRAND SCALE OF THINGS

    MC'S MVP

    1. Rza - This project wouldn't of happened full stop
    2. Meth - Great energy
    3. MK - Release LIR already
    4. Zilla - Great verses matured as an MC
    5. Rae - His flow is disgustingly good, even though i don't agree with his morales
    6. Gza - Better flow and delivery questionable lyrics he is on some space shit
    7. Ghost - sounded like he didn't want to be there but some great verses
    8. Deck - Some good verses some slow, Deck is about fast pace
    9. Donna - Lots of verses no standouts, Cap is better than this showing, was better in 8D

Thanks guys! really needed to get a positive opinion out there ;-)

since picking this up, I have played it once all the way thru.

first impressions were that it was a great album, its obviously not going to be a testament to Wu in 93. they are all pretty much 40 and over, and have had consistent success in music for 20 years. they don't have to prove themselves anymore

this album has some great tracks and some good music on it. there are obvious issues that I have with it, but honestly, its just good to hear them together making something I find quality

Felt, Preacher's Daughter, Crushed Ego's, Necklace are all dope as fuck. Pioneer the Frontier was dope too.

my issue with it is the over use of hooks and how long they are. they aren't bad, just needed to be shortened up. also, a few of the beats just play out with enough room for more verses, it seems like someone was supposed to rhyme there but never did. those should have been trimmed to sound more purposeful, Miracle was dope but that chorus was too long for the track, weird clash of styles going on there

so far, im loving this album. U God and Masta Killa stand out the most for me on here. Ghost has some good verses as well. RZA was kind of a let down. And I have no idea the hate for Cappa, he was on point most of the way thru. Meth just does what Meth does, impeccable flows. Rae shows up when he needs to. Deck was the least impressive.

also, U-God needed to be on Felt.

It's a good album no doubt ! But I hate the hooks and some unnecessary noises that mess up some tracks. I don't think it's a great album but I do think it can please many music fans. Personally I think Robert Diggs gave his best and I respect the way he fight to keep this project alive.

It's a good album, but people acting like it's a perfect album are just overcompensating.

As has been said, many of the hooks by themselves are enough to hold the album back from being great. It's a probably when you have songs like Keep Watch that should really be universally loved, but instead are universally disliked solely because of a hook.

And if you're saying that every single one of these beats is a hit, you're lying to yourself. Rza did some good work, but some of the beats are misses plain and simple.

Go back and listen to any of the classic Wu albums. One of the things I liked best about Rza was how he was able to perfectly craft beats to complement the rappers on them. That's not the case with this album. This time he basically made the music and then told people to get on them and spit something. It made a big difference because there were times on this album when people just seemed lost on the beat. I can't think of any other Rza produced album I can say that about.

The album is good. Hell, this has been a weak year, so depending on what you like, it might be a Top 5 album. Still, some of ya'll are overrating it.
Emotions are for the weak, so I sold mine to the highest bidder.

I agree with this dude. This album makes me look back as a punk in JR High school rocking the original classics, and how far I have come in my personal life since then. This is a grown up record - and I am loving it.

Thank you RZA for making it happen. Some oddities for sure, but this is the first album in a long time that I can listen to and enjoy from the 1st track to the very last.

I'd rather have a consistent album than an album with 2-3 classic tracks and a bunch of dud's (Wu-Tang Forever)

It could be far better without these awful hooks ! I really don't understand that. I can understand the fact Robert wants to experiment with the beats but the hooks ! It's not very hard to have good hooks. I am sure wu fans can sing better hooks than that. He worked with Al Green musicians he could ask them how to make a dope hook. He deserve the grammy for the worst hooks of the century ! This album won't grow in me !

theres 3 songs with iffy hooks, and they total about under 2 minutes. is it really that big of a deal?

Ok I got really drink and hi the other night and this nigga rza still got it. I thought the shit was pure wackiness with corny hooks the first few times but there are some true bangers on here that take some time to actually become bangers (if that makes since). Its not a classic due to some of the corny hooks and themes but all mcs do there best to stick to the topic and like I said these beats keep growin on me ( just wish drums were harder)....the nigga rza coulda kept that wack ass miracle hook song though. If this album would have had true vocalists with range singing (blue raspberry?) shit woulda been a 9/10 in my book.
