it seems like rza wanted to make the album with a universal sound with something for everyone and all his friends. It seems like hes also trying to impress hollywood with some epic instrumentation on some songs which is not a bad thing but its something he should save for soundtracks / compilations or Bobby Digital albums. The album is not bad for 2015, and alot of the songs keep growing on me, right now i see at 7.5 out of 10

For y'all know who don't know the original for Preacher's daughter

I actually don't think that was his aim at all. I think he just wanted to show people he could create complex music from the ground up which is not typically what's done for Hip Hop production. There is a reason it isn't done in Hip Hop, because when it is, people spend more time talking about the little missteps here and there with beats than the performance of the MCs which in general was pretty strong on this album IMO.
Emotions are for the weak, so I sold mine to the highest bidder.

A lot of the tracks on the album sound like they were really good tracks but the more time RZA sat on them the more he started adding elements that just flat out failed. I have very few complaints about the album but the complaints I have are monumental:

1 - hook on We will Fight SMH
2 - hook on Keep Watch SMH
3 - the disney/rock opera parts and beat switch on Ghosts verse in Miracle (extremely corny)
    4 - Preacher's Daughter

Remove that shit and I'm listening to a 9/10 album imo.

Still am digging the album but also can't help but be disappointed a bit in some of RZA's production choices.
This post matches my own thoughts on the album after first 8 or so listens.

There's plenty of great rapping, lyrics, concepts, many great beats... but Rza butchers even the best parts of this album. It boils down to whack R&B hooks and overtweaking the living shit out of beats too much.

On a 15 track album, I count 10 with bearable-at-best, nauseating-at-worst choruses. R&B crooning by unknowns takes up a disheartening chunk of time on this mothafucking WU-TANG CLAN ALBUM. Maybe the last one ever.

The name Nathaniel has already become a blight on the Wu legacy. Dude is horrific and all over the place here.

I never thought I'd actually feel bad for Rza but damn... keeping up with his interviews and stuff he really believed in his ability to make a dope Wu album with great production. I've got more love and respect for Rza than just about anyone in hip hop (or any medium) but he has grown increasingly LAME for a while now. It seems everyone but Rza himself sees his fault of overreaching. And he squabbles like crazy with the group because of this. I can't imagine the Generals are hearing this album and thinking these hooks and fucked up or boring beats sound great

    that's alot of negativity, dang

Like I said, it's sad for Rza but he made a Wu album that is perfect fodder to be pieced apart and remixed into a masterpiece.

Maybe that's what Cilvaringz has done. Who knows

anyway, I actually don't hate the chorus on "Miracle" as much as others.... Somehow it all works for an epic emotional Wu track.

You can never please humans. If we have we don't appreciate, if we don't have we complain and nag.
Can't we just enjoy a wu album after almost 7yrs of waiting, without bitching about it.

Cosign, RZA is no longer interested catering to hip hop fans, that's obvious. He feels he is Wu Tang, so he can take Wu Tang wherever he wants. He seems to forget the whole Clan thing, and that certain things might not be ideal for the integrity of the entire group.
    STAY TUNED.

ha, Uey and MK are the standouts on this album... that tells you who really failed (ie. everyone else).

sure, some of the beats are corny, but the rapping is subpar at best from pretty much everyone.

they can all bitch and whine about it being rza's fault now, but they took his money and appeared on the album. to turn in the lazy verses they did indicates the "artistic integrity" these guys possess (ie. none).

I think this also , Raekwon was right all along , after hearing the beats hes the first one to say that he officially doesnt want to see RZA in charge as much as he appriciate him.
Ghost prob also didnt like it and most members ..

4th disciple had one of the best tracks that is authentic on this one.

''If they make another album , things need to change because i dont think its a good idea anymore to let RZA fully in charge
He can be involved with wu team producers 4th disciple, Mathematics , bronze maybe True master etc.

Problem may be that RZA's IQ is heads and tails over the rest of the groups and they can't really see his vision. You have Rae and Ghost who want to make Goon albums until they're 60, Gza who wants to pander to a few Harvard and MIT professors and Meth who wants to make the best Redman album he can.

And RZA wants to make vanilla jam band albums , as long as we're generalizing.
