oh yeah - the three RZA beats on the Ghostdog instrumental album are all ridiculous. Especially RZA's theme, and the one that later became 16th Chamber (ODB Special)

not really the same thing but i've always been a bit annoyed that the "certified samurai" beat from the afro samurai soundtrack was a better bassier version that we got on "starter" from 8D

'Tragedy' by RZA & True Master
It is indeed a fucking tragedy that this was originally on the Rhyme & Reason OST (and Wu-Chronicles was scant consolation). That is simply not fucking good enough for a song of this calibre. The beat / lyrics / RZA's delivery / and video, put this in the upper echelons of Wu material.
At times it is sombre to hear this with hindsight. When I first heard this (it was on BBC 2 programme hosted by Tim Westwood) - I was flabbergasted. I really thought that this was an early single for RZA's solo album. Hence my disappointment.
Even though Tragedy was surely something that was at the time saved for The Cure, it was recorded during the build-up to Wu-Forever ("97 February"), and is perfect for that album. However, given that Sunshowers is on there, and the the album has enough classic material already, I would have saved this jewel for The W (or even Iron Flag at a stretch), just to give the album some Forever flavour. I would keep the song exactly as it is - no other emcees necessary.

It's In The Game
As for myself: I had come to the conclusion that there was nothing sacred about myself or any human being, that we were all machines, doomed to collide and collide and collide.
