Default Did y'all know that Cappa's verse on "Winter Warz" was a freestyle

Cappa wrote that on his twitter
    https://twitter.com/realcappadonna/s...81759879172097

Do you think it's true? Some of the verses sounds like a freestyle, but is it possible to flow like that freestyling?

"I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth" (Rev. 3:15-16)

This makes sense to me, as I always thought the verse sounded simplistic.

nah I don't believe that shit cappa looks like it takes him three attempts to spell his name right, no way that's a freestyle.

LOL And he's saying "I smoke a blunt and dial 9-1-7 1-6-0-4-9-3-11". It's hard to believe he just came up with it freestyling. He might've it written befo' tho

The original story behind this verse back in '96 was that it was a medley of verses. It served as sort of a crash course in Cappa.

Was a good verse but never CLASSIC for me.

The Pillage is my favorite work from Cap. Since then, I haven't cared for anything else.

    I agree.

I would say the only thing that makes it somewhat decent, is how cappa dumbs out.

It's a fucking classic to me. Cappa flows is incredible. I love his verse on "Ice Cream" too, but lyrically I'd say it 100 times dumber than Winter Warz

which pretty much is one definition of freestyling. never knew that, probably top 10 verses of all time... another one that's similiar is Bumpy Knuckles on "The Militia"

edit - another verse like that, that just keeps going with ridicolous energy and ill lines, is Tragedy Khadafi on "LA LA"... DAMN!

It's a certified classic Wu verse. I don't know how people on the Wu site can say it isn't! smh

As regards for it being a freestyle, like has been mentioned its a mix of verses, you can tell. A mix of dope lines from different verses that all just blended perfectly to make it notorious.

"There are two types of freestyle. There’s an old-school freestyle that’s basically rhymes that you’ve just thought of on the spot that may not have anything to do with any subject or that goes all over the place. Then there’s freestyle where you come off the top of the head. - Kool Moe Dee

    Cap's is the first type
