    Default Is Raekwon too slow?

The tracks I heard from Raekwon and this FILA-thing makes me wonder. Maybe it would be alot better if Rae released this 3 years ago?

This type of hiphop and vibe FILA seems to have is kinda dying. Common and John Legend just got an Oscar for their song "glory", Kanye is back and he's talking about Farrakhan and the power of the people, Jay-Z is making conscious decisions to make statements in his albums, J Cole spittin that REAL rap and still sell alot, Kendrick is rapping "Sweeter the berry".

All I'm trying to say is that RZA's concept of "A better tomorrow" seems to be more fitting for USA's situation right now than Raekwons furjacket "Fila"-thing. Even Rick Ross numbers and relevance is dropping.. It seems mainstream hiphop has an re-emergence of conscious rap.

I'm a little bit afraid Raekwon's "Fila" will seem unrelevant..

Rae should make and album as he wants and don't try to fit in today's trends. This type of imitation killed Wu-Tang Clan, because they'd stopped making music like they had been doing for years and started hanging out with some fake rappers who make commercial shit.

"I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth" (Rev. 3:15-16)

I'm not surprised that kanye is referencing well known racists.

^ there was an interview/article around the time CL2 coming out where the person wrote that Rae originally wanted to make a commercial album.

I disagree with the Rza comment, but we'll see after he drops these movies (Iron Fist 2, Bobby Digital)

Inspired by Basquiat, my chariot's on fire
Everybody took shots, hit my body up, I'm tired
Build me up, break me down to build me up again
They like "Hov we need you back so we can kill your ass again"

Hov got flow though he's no Big and Pac, but he's close
How I'm 'posed to win? They got me fighting ghosts
Most kings get their heads cut off
With the same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with

Shit, that's only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
    Don't believe me, ask Michael
    See Martin, see Malcolm

    See Biggie, see Pac
    See success and its outcome
    See Jesus, see Judas
    See Caesar, see Brutus

    See success is like suicide
    Suicide, it's a suicide
When you succeed, prepare to be crucified
Media meddles, niggas sue you, you settle

Every step you take, they remind you you ghetto
So it's tough being Bobby Brown
To be Bobby then, you gotta be Bobby now
Now the question is, "Is to have had and lost
Better than not having at all?"
    Because dawg

    Or we can revisit Magna Carta-album, or whatever gems he dropped with Jay Electronica;

    He killed "We made it".
