kendrick made an album of music, not a rap album
Has been a long time coming for rappers to start making profound, deep, intelligent music again. All those A tribe called Quest, 2pac, funk and soul influences really work well together when Kendrick makes music.
That why this is a milestone for me. Finally again a rapper that in the mainstream scene that is lyrically and musically very good.

It feels carefully constructed and as people have commented its very musical. Like everything he does its a bit overhyped but you can't say he hasn't made some great music here and importantly hes actually making some social and political statements here, not just pandering to his audience.
I guess I better give it a more thorough listen
I listened to a few tracks and turned it off the other day as I wasnt impressed
