I saw an interview where Ghost felt that way, but I'm sure Rza probably feels diferently.

Not really sure what's the big revelation about the story... Ghost and Meth had a fight, Rza chastised Meth for shitty attitude, and they thought the album was too commercial...

so they quickly made Iron Flag to make up for it?

The W gets better and better with age... gritty as fuck, dark and gloomy joints like "Can't Go to Sleep" and "Jah World"

    Iron Flag is mostly lame

best part of the story is imagining Meth shitting on Ghost for his obscure opaque rhymes. Starks was at peak uniqueness, definitely my favorite stage of his career

(also kinda weird because Meth has said Supreme Clientele is his favorite Wu solo album)

There is nothing commercial about "The W" except "Gravel Pit"

Honestly..i feel that at the time (2000) the Wu maybe should've made a more commercial sounding record. That was around the time the Neptunes really popped off. Sure the hard core fans wouldve hated on it..but they had just finished pumping the world with loads and loads of WuTang and Wu-Affiliate music that sounded (even tho i loved it) the same..

The W is grimey as fuck....really ahead of its time. Rae killed it. Ghost killed it. Deck too. Gza came correct. Masta Killa too, wouldve like to hear more U-God on the album. Meth seemed restricted.

Every album after Forever should have been a double. I mean cmon...10 or 11 Mc's in the crew..plus affiliates..and you wanna add features like Snoop, Nas and Redman? Has to be a double.

I listen to The W and Iron Flag as one with a cpl extras from around the same time period. Nothing commercial and it sounds great like this. Recommend you check it out.

gravel pit for sure..Triumph wasnt commercial at all..no hook..just bars. from ALL of them. It may only seem commercial because it got alot of air time..revolutionary track for sure.
