    Default Eminem - Phenomenal

    Not Phenomenal

    [Hook]
    I am phenomenal
With every ounce of my blood
With every breath in my lungs
    Won't stop until I'm phe-no-menal
    I am phenomenal
    However long that it takes
    I'll go to whatever lengths
It's gonna make me a monster though
    I am phenomenal
But I would never say, ‘Oh, it’s impossible’
    Cause I'm gonna be phenomenal

    [Verse 1]
    Unstoppable, unpoppable thought bubbles
    Untoppable thoughts, fuckin' juggernaut that'll
Stomp you in the verse, obstacles I'm drawn to 'em
    When the going got rough
Show ‘em what I done thought that was the worse, little sissy
Who the fuck taught you how to persevere?
There ain't no situation that you ever had to respond to that's adverse
The messiest thing you've ever gone through is your purse
Yeah, I don't try like Captain, I might as well
Hang it up like a shelf, gotta keep growin' with it, evolve
Cause you can keep throwin' shit at the wall
But you're gonna find that nothing's gonna stick until you apply yourself
Time to slip in that zone till' I find myself
Inside the realm where the unknown and boldly go
In the waters where nobody else has gone before
Or willing to go, uncharted, feeling is so
    Bomb, I'm feelin' myself, I'm a giant
Sometimes I gotta remind myself that I am...

    [Hook]

    [Verse 2]
    Let me self-empower you
When you're down and they're tryin' to clown the fuck out of you
When you feel like you're runnin' out of fuel
I'll show you how to use doubt as fuel
    Convert it to gunpowder too
Now what you do is put the match to the charcoal fluid
Put a spark to it like Martha Stewart barbecuing
Ah screw it, feel like you want to hit that wall then do it
Punch through it, just cock back, put your all into it
Now you gon' take that rage and make that what you raise
Never take back what you say
If you stay trapped in your brain, engage in this fueled cage match
    Ready to scrap asap
Take your fists to his bones
Show Biggie who's smallest you're Christopher Wallace
Yeah I picture 'em all as plastic and foam
Lays flat, where you put your dinner plates at
And set it off like a placemat
    (I am phenomenal)
And I want you to say that

    [Hook]

    [Bridge]
    Step into the unknown
And find yourself your glory, free the ignoring person

    [Verse 3]
Got a fuckin’ mouth with no shut-up valve
Can't even cut the power to it, when it's what allowed
Me to come up out from under the fuckin' ground
Cause I worked my butt off now
It's a subject I don't know how to shut up about
    Cause I stuck it out
Like a motherfucking tongue to tie, I responded when I got shoved around
    You're gonna have non-believers
But when you're beyond belief, you probably shouldn't wonder how
    Get it how you live
But are you prepared to give more than you get?
And put in twice what you get back from this shit
Though what you sacrifice barely is half, never give
    Rap is my shiv
But it's like my shield at the same time I wield, I'ma knife this will
Sometimes I feel just like B. Real from Cypress Hill
How I can just kill a cypher, survivor's guilt
I rhyme like life is still an uphill climb
Ready to face it, each challenge waitin'
Can taste it, it's salivation, I'm wagin' retaliation
Look what I have built, reputation is validation
The only thing I'm capable of makin' is amazing
Only thing you're capable of makin' is a false statement
An accusation... I am legendary status, in fact
That is the only way you'll ever be able to say
Your legend is makin' an allegation
I write with the left, same hand I hold the mic with
As I fight to the death, 'til my last breath
Managed to prove who the best man is
Surveil it, all cards be the only ones left standing
In the end, but I ain't gonna be the only one with the advantage
Of knowing what it's like to be southpaw
Cause you can bet your ass you'll be left handed
    Cause I am

It's amazing how he can't write a decent verse anymore, he just rhymes and flows.

while i agree a lot of the shit he spits is absolute bullshit with nothing worth listening to, he still got some amazing storytelling tracks - "Bad Guy" on the new album especially.

Right up there with Prodigy of Mobb Deep. Off topic, but this still baffles me.

    He went from this:

To this, in a matter of 3 months or so during the course of 2001.

Was Jay-Z's Summer Jam revelation truly THAT psychologically damaging, that the entire foundation of Prodigy's poetically captivating writing style was toppled? Cause even in the current day, it's extremely rare that we see Prodigy cuttin' heads with his vintage style.

Well, it doesn't help that this song needed/contracted to be written for a movie.

Dark Matter, don't be dissing Prodigy. He's a legend. His lyrics may not have been good for awhile but he's done several classic songs that make up for his bad lyrics. I've never understood what's so special about Eminem. He's a good rapper but it seems to me that he would rather make mainstream songs so he can be successful instead of staying underground. He was underground when he first started. He made a mistake signing with Dr Dre's Aftermath record label because Dr Dre turned him into a mainstream rapper. I bet when Eminem first got with him, he wanted to do underground songs and Dr Dre said you can't do that if you wanna be on my record label hahahahahahahahahahahaha. Dr Dre was probably like, i'm only interested in selling records. I don't do underground rap LOL. That's why I never heard Eminem's albums because too many of his songs are mainstream and he's not that type of rapper. The mainstream songs that I did hear, I thought they were wack. My Name Is song is alright and I like the beat. That's the first single he did from his first album which made him popular.

That's why Rakim, 50 Cent and Joell Ortiz left Aftermath. 50 Cent made a big mistake signing with Aftermath because he's a underground rapper and his albums on Aftermath sounded mainstream. If you notice, 50 Cent's last album was underground because he was with a independent label. He went back to doing the hardcore songs that made his fans love him in the beginning.

No diss, just making an observation. Prodigy in his prime painted vivid, poetically detailed pictures, while still capturing the grit of his environment with a rugged edge. The falloff was just so unexplained and sudden, it intrigues me. It'd be interesting to pinpoint the exact time period that his style changed, and the reasons why. Cause the contrast is like night and day. I agree, Prodigy has had classics since the change up, but he's not nearly as consistent in coming with that caliber of quality that vintage Prodigy displayed constantly, in my opinion.

100%. In both the 90s, and presently. Despite varying quality since the new millennium, Prodigy has always kept it genuine. While Eminem has been a marketing gimmick since 1998, and is currently running on fumes, while Jimmy Iovine twists the pitchfork in deeper and parades him like a puppet, lol. Prodigy in classic form will always be one of my favorite MCs. Even if he doesn't venture into that same depth nearly as often these days, he's proven that he still can when he wants to.

All they'll have is your picture at the funeral LOL. No casket, you bastards be missing hahahahahahahahahaha. You don't know me nigga but we about to change that shit. Wrap that nigga up like a package LOL. Fuck all them niggas, fuck all them faggots hahahahahahahahahahaha. What he said on Keep It Thoro song also refers to Jay-Z when he said I don't give a fuck what you sold, that shit is trash hahahahahahahahahahaha.

Most definitely! I've never been able to get into a Jay-Z album. Even with Reasonable Doubt, I was feeling the production most of all.

classic era prodigy outshines most mcs

at one point he just gave up on the lyrics and got plain lazy. I'll still bang new mobb deep & solo P, it'll still do for me but nothing compares to the classic albums

eminem disgusts me with his showing off of technical prowess. but where's the actual content. also I can't be bothered with his flow anymore. I never ever listen to em anymore. his newer records completely spoiled his earlier albums for me. prodigy is still listenable at the very least, eminem is headache inducing to me now

Thanks Dark Matter. It's about time somebody says they don't like Jay-Z besides me. It seems most of the people on here are on Jay-Z's dick and are afraid to diss him LOL. He ain't nobody special. LL Cool J is better than him and so is Papoose. Remember when LL had beef with Jay-Z when Jay-Z was the vice president of Def Jam records? LL Cool J's early classic albums shits on all of Jay-Z's albums hahahahahahahahahaha.
