Dr Dre comes to mind, hes certainly the most successful at doing both.

Pete Rock is not very good at all at rapping, but I think he has that kind of skill as a song producer that makes him able to write decent rap songs in spite of it.

Nah he just sounds awkward like always. I love 'Escapism' and tons of other songs he raps on but hes really not impressive on the mic at all. I'm sure he wouldn't deny it himself thats why on his 'solo' albums he gets a bunch of other rappers to do most of the work.

I'm surprised no one else said Hav ?!??. Dude is definitely a top 5 Producer/Rapper.

Havoc >>>>>>Kanye, Dre and maybe even Rza IMO.

Edit: Dre is wack on the mic.

    Ahahahahaha

Havoc is a good producer but his rapping is pretty generic.
