Is this the UK’s oldest gamer? 78-year-old queues past midnight to get her hands on the new Call of Duty game

A 78-year-old grandmother who queued past midnight to get her hands on the latest Call of Duty game this week is staking her claim to being Britain’s oldest gamer.

It might be a pastime that keeps most teenage boys glued to their computer screens - but pensioner Doreen Fox says she can’t get enough of ultra violent video games.

Ms Fox spends hours on end playing on her XBox in her one-bedroom flat in Dudley in the West Midlands.

The oldest gamer to make the book is 85 year-old John Bates from Onalaska, Wisconsin, USA after achieving the Most Perfect Games on Wii Sports Bowling (2,850).
