Default Has 2015 been one of the worst years for hip-hop in a while?

Ill be honest I have picked up fuck all from this year. I got that Earl which was pretty boring, the new Kendrick was dope but lacked a bit of replay value, the Ghost albums, Czarface and I think thats it. Normally at this stage in a year i would have at least 10 albums bought. Still have to pick up Jedi Mind Tricks album and the Cannibal Ox album.

I know I am missing out on some, but nothing about hip-hop has excited me this year, its been flat as fuck. Kendricks new shit has gotten everyone talking and deservedly so, especially considering it is a mainstream release but couldnt be further from the mainstream.

Looking back, the 10's havent been as bad as the mid-late 00's, especially 2010 and 2012 which were bangers of years. I thought the last two were aight as well.

Ive been using this year to catch up on other forms of music.

I know I am missing out a few at least, but there is no way that at this stage of the year there have been more or at least as many good releases as any of the previous few years.

People are gonna jump in this thread and tell me I am wrong, so what dope albums have been released this year that I am missing out on?

Ya'll get mad at me because I'm stuck in the 80's and 90's rappers hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. It's been a long time since I've bought a rap cd and I won't be buying rap cd's anymore. Rap is gonna continue to suck for the next 30 years LOL.

i dont expect much from hip hop as a whole nowadays.

all i can ask for are the people that are capable of making dope music continue to do so.

i loved that Earl album so my suggestions probably wont be of any use for you

off the top of the head, no research id say...

Killah Priest - Planet of the Gods
Nacho Picasso - Stoned & Dethroned
Drake - If You're Reading This It's Too Late (might be AOTY)
    Young Thug - Barter 6

i dont even keep up with this scene anymore anyway but those releases bangggggggg

Theres not a hope I am listening to the last two. I streamed that Young Thug online and while the beats were fuckin banging he is horrible on a whole other level. Id bump the instrumentals no doubt, sick tracks. Cant stand Drake, ive tried, but just cant get into him.

Did you not find the beats on the Earl album boring as fuck? Hes an excellent rapper but it just bored me sensless after the first few tracks. Doris had better variety in beats.

interesting. i do not view the beats on Barter 6 as astronomical as everyone says they are but they are nice ha. the more i listen to that album the harder it bangs, his flows on Halftime that track with T.I. ill stop there...

sorry about drake i used to hate the fucker but that new album is enough to turn a hater into a believer, shit is tooo dumb haha.

wow and about Earl's latest, the beats are spectacular! they hit hard in the whip at all the right places, unlike Thugs shit that bangs all the time, that Earl shit is masterful, the opening reminds me of Mr. Rogers neighborhood haha parts of the beats seem heavily influenced by DOOM at times though which is fine. fuck Doris, Earls nice on it but he was trying to impress the wrong people. IDLSIDGO is nasty, i can see how it bores people but it definitely captivates me for them ten tracks, surprised them features dont help you keep interest

Other than what's been mentioned this is what I've been bumping this year...

Oddisee - The Good Fight - Ill
Lupe Fiasco - Tetsuo and Youth - Ill
Cannibus and Bronze Album - Ill
Action Bronson - Mr Wonderful - Soild
Camp Lo - Ragtime Hightimes - Listenable
Joey Baddass - B4DA$$ - Couldn't get into this but seems to be rated highly
Ghostface - Twelve Reasons To Die 2 - Just started listening to this but sounds solid so far.

Looking back at what I was listening to last year I feel this year has been better so far, but each to their own.

Yeah there wasn't that much for me. These were the main ones:

    AtLongLastASAP
    Blade Of The Ronin
    Sour Soul

I'm a Drake fan but I haven't played 'If You're Reading This' more than a few times. Maybe I'm sleeping.

There is a lot of garbage out. But if you dig, there is some really good stuff out too.

    Skyzoo- Music For My Friends
Czarface- Every Hero Needs A Villain
Canibus & Bronze Nazareth- Time Flies, Life Dies, Phoenix Rise.
    Ghostface- Sour Soul
Cannibal Ox- Blade of the Ronin
    Joey Badass- Before Da $$
Ghostface- 12 Reasons To Die 2
    Oddissee- The Good Fight
    Fashawn- Ecology
    Action Bronson- Mr. Wonderful
Red Pill- Look What This World Did To Us
Clear Soul Forces & Nameless- Fab 5
    Lupe Fiasco- Tetsuo & Youth
Killah Priest- Planet Of The Gods
Kendrick Lamar- To Pimp A Butterfly
Rapper Pooh & Apollo Brown- Words Paint Pictures

Hopefully we get new albums from Elzhi, GZA, Torae, and Nas. I think it's been a solid year so far. Not as good others. But there's still a lot of stuff that's worth the while to listen to.

Maybe I need to revisit that Earl. I dont have a car at the moment and walking round in the sunshine bumping it through headphones dont fit. Its a dark album need to bump that shit when at home when I get a new stereo. Its not the rapping that bored me it was the beats, they are quite similiar but I need to revisit that shit. Low end based electronic music needs to be bumped through the right channels to be enjoyed.

    Cheers for that.

Forgot bout Oddisee, thats one album people are talking about.

I think the problem this year is that nobody is talking like "shit you need to hear that new...." usually there are always albums ever year that you NEED to hear that erbody is talking bout. Apart from Kendrick there have been fuck all this year.

I know if you dig deep you will find dope albums, but there are no albums this year that have gotten people talking bout. Its just been very dull, you wouldnt think anything is happening in hip-hop this year.

Maybe some of the heavy hitters will come through and shake the game up later in the year.

I can almost guarantee that this thread has been made on this site every year since the Corp's inception.

    I'm sure of it.

And it will be made every subsequent year until the Corp's demise.

Not only that, but it will live on and reappear on whatever forums or social networking groups Corp users move on to from here.

Been a handful of dope releases, most notably
    Joey Badass - B4.DA.$$
    Fashawn - The Ecology
BSBD & Nacho Picasso - Stoned & Dethroned
BSBD & Deniro Farrar - Cliff of Death II
    Action Bronson - Mr. Wonderful
    Vince Staples - Summertime '06

To me, it feels like it's been a rather slow year, but admittedly, I haven't really listened to a lot of new albums either.

Outside of Hip Hop, I think Jake One & Mayer Hawthorne's Tuxedo was dope. Great summer album.
