Why is it dat as ghost became a progressively lesser mc and started releasing shitter albums he also rose in status and became a more highly regarded rapper?
I've never understood dat.

it's cuz his beat selection remained good I think while the beats some other generals picked were iffy. so people gave him a pass on his lyrics
also while his lyrics have become more generic and he has turned to concept albums concocted by other people he's never really fallen off hard lyrically
while his lyrics used to be intriguing (SC) they are serviceable to solid to just good now
also opinions differ. TSA recently made a thread saying he loved ghost's lyrics on the BBNG collabo. I mainly listen to that album for the instrumentation and ghost's flow, but I'm not really paying much attention to the lyrics themselves anymore since they sound basic to me
and some people really like concept albums or live instrumetation
36 seasons was average imo as a concept album, 12RTD was a bit too outlandish for me etc.

he's not a more highly regard rapper now. but as for why he's still relevant
because the internet and clicks...hard work...the new rap legend scene...the wu tang nostalgia kickback of the last 5 years...rap got generally weaker in depth...reputation consistently built up over long period garnered attention...
yeah what ghost in the lac said pretty much, its just pretty much a bunch of kids on the internet that know wu tang was hot back in the day and they cant be in with all their queer friends banging their old shit because there are people that dont like the feel/qulaity to older releases so they resort to holding the new releases in high regard to be cool. and that seems to be the populous on the internet. i dont hear people on the streets telling me ghosts new shit is tip top.
and as for 36 seasons and 12 reasons, shit, i havent even peeped those bitches, might have given 12 reasons a spin but i dont recall anything from it.
sour soul got spun becasue i had a feeling that jazz back drop would be smooth and i was correct but when it came to the lyrics, i just listened didnt analyze, and honestly there isnt much to analyze.
people living in a false reality, i guess trying to impress, who i dont know.
nevertheless this is kind of on topic...
Kool Keiths joint with Ray West "A Couple of Slices" is hot. lyrically Keith doing what he's always done. i dont know how Keiths status is regarded in the world but i think hes still a killer.
still gotta cop that other tape he did with l'orange it seems a tad too experimental for my tastes, but i saw a video of it on Toonami last night and it slammed.
^^you won't be disappointed with his joint album with L'Orange, it slams

So might it be that after people stopped caring about the wu, they later became kind of hip in recognition of their past contribution to hip hip, and by that point ghost was apparently making the better solo albums of the wu members and as a result was singled out as one of the greatest rappers of all thyme, as a mandatory wu inclusion?

Ghostface is highly regarded because hes very good at rapping and making rap music. Being unique and versatile are factors too.
I think he crushed every verse on Forever and The W, had a more consistent and active output than other rappers (Clan or otherwise) and now you see his influence on younger rappers. It shouldn't be that hard to understand. Sour Soul and 12 Reasons can't be a progressively worse anything, hes still pushing boundaries and expectations.
the question should be what was his last rewind worthy verse....him and Rza have regressed the worst in the Clan..aside from Cappa...!
"Who shot tha duck out tha window" !!!!..Ghostface Killah
Old age?
Don't kill me here. i hear what many of yall are saying from a fan perspective. But it's not like they don't have it in them. I truly believe it's the beats and the sphere of the albums/songs they work on. Because on OUATIS, Ghost and RZA came correct. And Ghost has the most memorable verse on there about the first time he started wearing a mask and what it did to him mentally. Shit was crazy.
^^ooh wee thats that OUATIS talk u know that's gonna be a counterproductive post in like 2 minutes homie but I feel ya
ghost need somebody to rile him up
