Retirement is about just getting by when your old now.

This is where buying a house can save you from being homeless at least assuming you pay it off by then.

My old landlord who's my dads age like to bust my balls about how my generation won't retire. Like it's somehow milleniels fault.

This shit was inevitable. I told him that fairytale of retirement that like two generations of Americans got to live is over.

Families will just start cohabitating again. Maybe it's for the better, as fucked up as they are now kids could use more multi generational influences.

I also see retirees leaving the country in greater numbers and continuing to work past retirement age. I'm really eager to get another stream of revenue going because I don't think the traditional work structure is going to cut it anymore.

As much as old people have convinced some young people that SOCALISM IS DA DEVIL, it's going to be impossible to sustain the same national standard of living without increased government presence since they've gutted all production in the country (industry and most of agriculture)

This is definitely where owning a home comes in play.

    Socialism in theory is fine.

For instance social security was a great idea and it has benefitted many people and was highly useful.

Unfortunately as government grows, accounts with surpluses like social security go from untouchable to touched and it ruins it all eventually.

I believe LBJ was the first president who took from social security and used it to find some of his Great Society program.

This is where socialism can falter in my opinion.

Me personally, knowing that politicians will spend your contributions on things that go against what they originally claim, it's a waste.

Id rather manage my own money.

So there is threshold for how much I personally want to expect from the government.

Im ok with what they are taking now. I think ACA is a waste and only hurts working class people because of that ridiculous penalty.

If they start taking 40, 50, 60 percent.... I'm not good with that.

Like I said I'd rather manage my own money And have my own choices. I don't need the federal gov to babysit me.

    Some people do though.

I prefer the freedom of choice.

I'm not saying that's right for everyone but it's right for me.

The way i see it is how much autonomy do you really have as far as your money goes anyways? The average american spends most of what they make on payments they don't want to make but have to. The irony about the 'freedom' with your money thing is countries like France (not a perfect economy just an example as far as liberty with money) people have more disposable income because things that they have to pay for no matter what (going to the hospital for example) are handled by the government.

The American system isn't designed for everyone to have money and that's not a goal in by any measure, but when being alive (health care) costs money you have remember that it was created to make sure everyone have life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. There are things you can't 'choose' if you want or not if you want to live and have to pay no matter what, but the country is always going to have people that can't afford what's available because that's something we've excepted as a part of our system.

When it comes to medicine, you'll have to pay it no matter what. If your guts explode and you get rushed to the hospital you can't 'choose' to not pay without repercussions. So things that are in that category are things I'm ok with the government being a part of (you can chose to not save your self and community in a fire and that's why we have a fire department which is socialism).

The government providing healthcare also doesn't stop people from picking private options. It in fact increase the amount of options someone can choose from and sets a higher standard for all of them if they want to compete.

I also think the ACA is trash. Obama wanted to create a healthcare industrial complex that's accountable to democrat partiality to counter what oil was doing for the republicans.

I also believe he allowed shale drilling to deplete big oil as a way to 'finish off' the republican party. Big oil was one of the only major industries that didn't fund both sides nearly equally, hell the whole rep establishment are all oil company affiliates or owners.

The more republicans fight to get rid of it the more healthcare as an industry sees they're trying to cut their gravy train off and sticks to the democrat's corner. The republican part is waaaaaaaaaayy to stupid right now to see what's happening and the ones that were capable of this level of illuminati shit are inactive and disinterested.

    it doesn't matter really.

I'm not complaining too much. I know I have it good and I don't even have it that good. Once you put it into perspective were just spoiled as fuck.
