i always liked SALEM but couldn't get into to most of the other shit



at the time i never really thought it was much of a genre, just some other artists trying cash in on Salems random popularity (which faded pretty quickly).

I liked that style of music though; the sort of darker end of the profusion of "chillwave". Always liked this guy a lot also, not really sure if he was considered a part of it at the time:

Looking at the wikipedia for Witch house, makes me realise that it both isn't a genre and that i enjoyed most of the musicians categorised under it.

listened to a lot of Holy Other, Balam Acab, Clam Casino, Crystal Castles (saw them live a couple of times), Purity Ring, Zola Jesus etc. at that time.
